"Normally not," Severus agreed. He got up slowly from his desk and approached Hermione. "Have you been giving the young lady private instruction?"
And if anyone should know about giving young ladies private instruction, it's HE!Snape.
"Yes," Hermione answered guiltily. "I felt she needed more skills than a first year would normally possess in order to defend herself."
Why's she acting guiltily? There's nothing wrong with giving a student private instruction, as long as "private instruction" only means that and not what HE!Snape has in mind for his own female students.
I LOLed. I have no idea why, but I LOLed and scared the cat.
Also, that scene about Randy being "bombed out"...I actually wonder if it's supposed to say "bummed out" and Neil totally typoed that.
I don't know why it's taken me so long to realise how dreadful a person HE!Snape actually is. All I can think is I couldn't see past how bland and insipid his characterisation is.

It's a possibility. Of course, although "bummed out" would also be understood in context, the meaning of "bummed" in British English is just as unfortunate.
I likened its approach to continuity to if it had been a hundred separate stories written from the same plan crudely stitched together into three and a half novels. It occurs to me that the way it's not sure whether it wants to be nudist propaganda, wacky sex comedy, serious-business social commentary or porn also fits this.
Like a lot of things in Hogwarts Exposed, the wizard net is only ever mentioned when it impacts the plot and doesn't seem to exist otherwise, like some kind of virtual particle. Contrast this with how elements of the Potterverse that don't necessarily become directly relevant yet (or at all) are always in the background in the books.

Britpicking: not only about word usage.
I did read about a D&D game someone ran at a convention once that just consisted of the party being mind-controlled and raped by satyrs...
Insert FATAL joke here. I was tempted to put one into the actual sporking.
Obviously the wizard net is only for porn.
So it seems.
