Went to a psychology conference in Palm Springs in a fancy hotel...spent much time partying with classmates and friends...and stressing over my presentations...where I did make a freudian slip...but hopefully was able to recover..and then came home to a warm reception by my family.

I am feeling better...just making it through one day at a time. I broke down in my last class on Tuesday night...but I feel better. The Year 1 cohort was really supportive and I feel like I got a bunch of my feelings and insecurites out in the open.I feel like my worries and concerns were validated by a bunch of other people who have their own life ( Read more... )

Today's class totally sucked! My professor was on a total power trip and was completely condescending and a complete asshole to our class. The WHOLE class was having problems with his lack of clarity and the work load expectation....but he handled himself so poorly today. I have lost much respect for him. I am so #$%!ing pissed off! Going to the dentist is less than ideal, much less spending over 2 grand on teeth repair. Thus, I expect the dentist to be competent, not create temporary caps on my teeth that almost cause a gum infection as well as throbbing pain. Yeah...my family in Houston (which is most of my immediate family and then some) that live in Houston are doing well! I will be off to visit them in 1.5 weeks. Today was a nice day. Had a big BBQ with family and friends. Got to hang out with people I have not visited with in a while. Ate yummy food. Cooked two different desserts (peach cobbler and peach crisp). Relaxed with my honey. :)

I feel so overwhelmed by the disaster left by Hurricane Katrina. I have been glued to the news or reading articles telling stories of people who have no home and no place to live and are dying of heat exhaustion.
