Life not going as planned right now

I don't think I posted about having to have my transmission rebuilt last month.  If you remember Elle ran over a curb and it knocked the transmission the wrong way so on November 4th I paid almost $1300- which I don't have- to have it rebuilt.  Had to as it's our only car.

oh wow. I wonder why it's screwing up when you get it home? I wonder what's different between your house and the computer shop...

Which XP do you have? Could be that we can help you out with a disc.

XP Home edition/ 2002 version/ service pack 3 I have tried everyone (IRL) that I know and can't find one. :*(

do you have a wireless mouse and/or keyboard that plug in via usb? Fancy optical mouse? any other USB devices that don't have a seperate power chord?
These devices all draw power from the tower itself, which if its an older machine with a small power supply, might not have enough power to run everything.

Try swapping to a straight up plug-in keyboard & mouse, and see if it runs any better for you.

ps- you mention a burner drive... is it original to the machine, or an upgrade? They tend to pull more power too.

bottom line, try cutting down on power-draw... and consider upgrading the power supply ($50-100)

Nope no wireless mouse or keyboard. My computer won't load (it just keeps rebooting) when anything is plugged into the usb ports, so we unplugged all usb stuff (like our trackball) when we turn it on, heck that's our only usb thing
