50 The room was usually an office space used by vampires who volunteered at The Council. It was currently Kim Heechul's personal intimidation booth. Heechul himself sat at the edge of the desk in the room, while Key sat across from it on a chair, his hands in his lap and his eyes on the floor.
"So~" Heechul asked, "What the fuck happened?"
"The reason.. I was at his place..."
"Start with how you broke the table."
"Onew threw me into it." Key said, irritation evident in his cold toned voice. "Heechul," he boldly lifted his head to meet eye to eye with the vampire. "I know that Noh is the reason Jonghyun has human memories. I want to take the blame so that he won't."
Heechul raised a brow, "How sweet. If you cared so much, why would you believe something like that?"
Key rolled his eyes, "I know damn well it isn't me or my idiot sire that did it." he said, and then sighed, "Besides, who else but someone like Noh would be capable of such a thing..?"
"Mmhmm. So you want to take the blame? And this has to do with you being in his house because..?"
"If Onew could remember how Noh did it, then I could claim to have done it myself. Somehow.."
"And yet, who else but Noh would be capable of such a thing?" Heechul asked lightly, looking off at the door distractedly. "I'll allow you to take the blame, little boy, sure. But I already know how Noh did it, so all you needed to do was come to me." Heechul looked back at Key with a slight glare.
Key frowned, "How do you know? Why didn't you say something before..?"
"Simple." Heechul said, shrugging. "We could have tossed the blame onto Onew, finally got rid of him. You work just the same."
Key tried not to show just how offended he was by the comment, keeping his lips tightly sealed and forcing his eyes to stay on Heechul, refusing to be weak.
Heechul smirked at him, "I'm gonna tell you a story. Try to keep up with it. Kay?"
Key nodded, remaining silent, and so Heechul continued on...
"You surely already know that Noh was retardedly obsessed with Onew. God, every fucking day, Onew Onew Onew... but of course, Onew was getting older and smarter and as a stupid human with stupid human emotions he was bound to get distracted by something shiny soon enough and surely he wouldn't be all Noh's any more. Some bull shit like that. So what else would Noh want? To make him a vampire, and keep him looking all fresh and new. Eternally bonded too, hm? Of course, there's the memory problem.
That's why, he decided Onew wasn't going to forget. So he comes to, who else? Myself. To help him find a ritual that will make it possible for a vampire to be turned without losing his human memories." Heechul laughed, "Of course I could find it. I just tweaked it a little so I wouldn't actually have to deal with that little shit forever. That's why it's Jonghyun with the human memories. The first bonded of the turned~."
Key frowned, "You tricked Noh."
"God, you were around back then! Ugh, remember how Onew was? It was unbearable, and Noh was even worse. Fuck, after he continued to hold onto Onew even after he turned him, even I could have killed him..."
Key was about to bite his own lip off, trying to hold in his emotions, and with that last line, he couldn't do it any more. He stood up, voice a hiss, "He trusted you."
Heechul wrinkled his nose, "Do you have a problem?"
"Yeah, I have a problem. The Council has been my life for decades, and Noh was always right up there with them. It was Noh, and The Council, that made being some abandoned loser vampire bearable for me, and it was Noh, and The Council, that I've always strived to be like but you.. to Noh.. would do something like that? You don't deserve to be part of The Council, Heechul, in fact, you never did!"
"Mmhm, I listened to about a fourth of that before I got bored, so bravo." Heechul slid off the desk, grabbing something off of it as he did, "But here's the thing."
Heechul reached around, gripping Key's hair and pulling his head down as he drove a letter opener from the desk up through his neck. Key's blood splashed in a puddle against the floor, and Heechul shoved him down on top of it. "Ugh." Heechul commented, stepping back from him. "I can't stand that sappy bullshit."
He walked out the door, turning to Siwon who waited by it. "Key's behind the whole human memory thing if anyone asks." Heechul nodded his head toward the office, "Go finish him off. I don't want his blood on me."
Siwon nodded, "Then what about Jonghyun?"
"Ugh, aren't people looking for him? Just kill him yourself. Make it look like the hunter did it or some shit. I don't care."
Siwon's eyes widened just a bit, "Must we kill him?"
"Tch, him and his idiot sire were only still alive so they could take care of Onew." Heechul huffed, adding on as he started to walk off, "They couldn't even handle that.."
Siwon slightly shook his head, sighing, but he walked into the office anyway, shutting the door behind him as he withdrew a long knife from a hilt in his belt. He knelt down by Key, who was face down in a puddle of his blood, touching the blade to the back of his neck when his phone rang. Siwon let it ring while he pressed down, slicing through skin, muscle, bone, until he could pull Key's head away from his neck.
He carefully wiped his knife off on Key's surely expensive white jacket before he returned it to the hilt on his belt, and only then did he take the phone from his pocket. He sighed, looking down at his now ruined shoes, as he clicked to call back the person he'd just missed a call from.
