I've been celebrating American Independence Day on Edgewater's Hollywood Beach. So it turned out that, last night, one hell of a police chase made its way through the neighborhood.

According to Edgeville Buzz, it started at 9:30 PM in the western suburb of Lombard, when a suspect in a "drug-induced homicide" refused to pull over for the local police and sped down Eisenhower Expressway toward Chicago. Illinois state police ( Read more... )

I was walking around my neighborhood yesterday afternoon when something drew me towards out local beach. And I saw something I didn't quite expect. Entire mounds of sand, snow and ice stretched along the shore. The shoreline twisted, forming what looks like miniature versions of canyons and seaside cliffs.
