So a Chicagoland-wide police chase passed not that far from my building

So it turned out that, last night, one hell of a police chase made its way through the neighborhood.

According to Edgeville Buzz, it started at 9:30 PM in the western suburb of Lombard, when a suspect in a "drug-induced homicide" refused to pull over for the local police and sped down Eisenhower Expressway toward Chicago. Illinois state police joined in (because state highways are their jurisdiction). Once the suspect made his way to Chicago, Lombard PD let Chicago PD take over.

Long story short, the suspect wound up heading way north, making his way through Edgewater and, by the way, passing only two blocks from my building. Then, he spend west, losing the pursuers near O'Hare. It was eventually discovered that he ditched the car in the nearby suburb of Benseville.

The chase resulted in two car accidents - none of which involved any serious injuries.

While the chase passed near my house, I was at home, watching a Modern Family rerun on Fox Chicago. I don't think I even heard the sirens.

Never a dull moment in Chicago, that's for sure.
