Back in April 4, my friend Devin read a piece at The Skewer, a monthly spoken word show thing at Logan Square's Cafe Mustache. When talking to my mom about it aftewards, I struggle to describe what it was actually about. But now that there's a video, I can just embed it

In October 28, 2017, Illinois State Representative Jeanne Ives decided to challenge incumbent Republican governor Bruce Rauner in the March 20, 2018 Republican primary. Her issue wasn’t Rauner’s position on economic and labor issues - it was the fact that he signed House Bill 40, which undid the Illinois law that would make abortion illegal in

I was looking at the Livejournal front page, and I saw that omonatheydidnt had not one, but two posts about social attitudes toward lesbians in South Korea.
This morning, I saw All About Them (À trois on y va in the original French), which was screened as part of the 51st annual Chicago International Film Festival. I wasn't originally going to write a post about it, but so long as I have a bit of time before I have to head off to an assignment, I figure I might as well jot down a few thoughts.
This week is the Bisexual Awareness Week. Snarky tweets aside, it is, in my very unhumble opinion, a pretty important thing to have. Out of all the sexual minorities that make up the LGBTQ alphabet soup, bisexuals are most likely to fall under the radar. The issues they face don't get as much attention, and they have to deal with misconceptions and
