Deadpool in the movie was a waste. Ryan Reynolds abs were a waste too since we didn't see them. There was really no reason for him to be in the movie aside that they want to give him a spin off.
Kitsch's Cajun accent was attrocious, but he did capture the essence of Gambit with his jovial obnoxiousness. Of course he can only be in a spin off now since he's far too old for the other mutants.
Things that bugged me:
How would Wolverine not smell that Kayla wasn't dead? He should KNOW.
Why did Gambit even get involved in Wolverine and Sabertooth's fight, then decide to leave? In character Remy would have been out of there at the first chance, not hanging around to get in a punch.
You can't tell me Kayla couldn't get close enough to use her whammy on someone who mattered to get her sister out.
Good point about Kayla - how could Wolverine not know she was faking. And why not simply recruit Logan while she was pretending to be his girlfriend to help rescue her sister?
Are there plans for a Deadpool spin-off - he's dead. Well I know they've reattached his head before. But I don't want to see that bastardized version Deadpool in a movie
Yeah. If she really loved Logan it seems like she could have figured something out.
If you watched to the very last part after the credits, you see him reach through the rubble and pick his head up and his eyes open and he goes "shhhh".
Yeah, I'm going to have to second you here re: the relationship between Vic and Logan. It's just another permutation of their possible relationship in the past. I'd buy it just as quickly as any other one, especially the "Logan is my dad" but they pulled for a few eps of Ultimates.
I haven't seen the film yet, but I always treat films and cartoons and shows like One Shot Limited Editions.
I do think I could have accepted the change in relationship as just another origin tale but thrown on the pile of everything else that drove me nuts about the movie I couldn't let it go.
Yeah. I think I stopped caring about comic book movies being any kind of good after Spiderman 2. Well, Spiderman 1. God, I hated that film. IM and The Incredible Hulk were so good last summer that I guess we were due for something shitty. Did Marvel's own studio put this out or was it a Fox production?
Thank you for telling me this. Why is it that they always wreck comic book and fantasy movies by trying to mush to much into them? Van Helsing, Batman and Robin *shudder*, etc. *hugs her comics* there's good stuff here, you don't have to shove 30+ years of storytelling down people's throats in 90 min!
(maybe I'll wait til it comes on ShawbyDemand and watch it with the sound off, to avoid bad accents)
