I didn't ever read the comics, so I really liked the movie. It wasn't amazing, but I didn't think it was bad. Everytime someone asks me what I thought of it, I usually say that. " I liked it, but I don't know how true it is to the comics." I have a couple of hard-core Wolverine fans for friends who didn't really like the movie.

You're definitely right about Hugh Jackman though. He did an awesome job.

Some parts that weren't supposed to be funny really were, most of them dealing with his hair. :)

Hey I understand - my friends who don't read comics like it too. Unfortunately, I couldn't turn off that knowledge to enjoy the movie on a separate level.

And I am glad it's making money so there will most likely be another movie - And the opportunity

Every single one of my non-comics friends LOVED the movie. Those who are comics fans either hated it or were indifferent to it.

That seems to be the trend. It already made $87.7mil so there will most likely be another. Let's hope they can make a movie everyone likes

You've just convinced me not to see it. I'm a Wolvie girl from way back. (I even have the sweatshirt and 10 boxes of comics to prove it. ) And Gambit is another fave. I bitched my way thru the first movies, so DH doesn't want me to go with him to see this one anyway. I love HJ as Wolvie, even if he's way too tall, but plot comes first, and this sounds full of holes. They sewed Deadpool's mouth shut? I'm sure others have been tempted, but that's just bad use of a character.

Deadpool just isn't deadpool if he isn't annoying the crap out of everyone else.

I promise this movie will be torture for a Wolverine fangirl.

As a gambit girl - I was so upset that he was misused but at least he was alive at the end.

I posted my own review of it last night, dunno if you saw it. I had a lot of the same problems and more. I was just gobsmacked at the explanation for Emma Frost being there, who is never actually identified as Emma Frost. Only those who are familiar with her secondary diamond power would begin to fathom.

Why in the freaking hell did they pick Emma Frost, though? And as Silver Fox's sister? What the fuck were they thinking? SF is a dark haired, dark skinned, dark-eyed Blackfoot woman. Emma is a blonde haired, blue-eyed, Caucasian (English, depending on what decade and title you're reading) girl. THIS DOES NOT COMPUTE. And why pick her stupid diamond power, not her telepathy? The diamond thing was retarded when Grant Morrison invented it in New X-Men. So they completely trash Frost's real (and way more fucked up and interesting history, read her Emma Frost title sometime, if you haven't) history just so they can have her shiny diamond body in this flick? And for no real reason, either. It's not like they'd adapted it for ( ... )

I know we talk briefly about it before btu I haven't seen your review.

A DP movie should be like Hannibal King from Blade 3 getting his own feature - FUN. YES!!! when i saw RR in B# - it was almost like watching deadpool. Let's hope it hey make a DP movie they lose all the freaky extra powers and do his origin right.

Emma Frost - *shakes head* why her - I had the same question. Made no sense to me either

What was crazy about B3 was, when I was watching it, I thought, "Damn, Ryan Reynolds would make a PERFECT Deadpool. He can even do the physical stuff!" Then I learned later Hannibal King was actually based a bit on DP, since RR's a fanboy and there was talk of a DP feature film way back then.

I fell in love with RR when he played HK! I had no idea he was channeling DP but Hubby had your same epiphany about RR and DP.

Bummer about that movie. Does it have alot of potentially good screen shots? Becuase then massive art and fic could follow and everyone could fix what was wrong with the movie

Yes all the boys looked very pretty but sometimes that isn't enough to carry the movie :D

LOL. Yeah I described it like this to another friend:

Not even the combined hotness of Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, or Taylor Kitsch could save the film.

LOL.

I watched it last week and just sat in the cinema going WTF almost over and over again.

It was terrible. I agree with all your points and I have even more gripes.

Gawd. Big Fat Failboat.

We watched 17 Again the next day and despite not even being fans of the HSM movies or Zack Efron, my husband actually found it more entertaining than Wolverine: Origins.
