Off to Spokane for four days, not exactly excited! It's a work thing, so on the upside there's a gigantic per diem check waiting for me. $31 per dinner per day? Not too shabby. Trying to spend that much on dinner in Spokane, as a Vegetarian? Now that will be a challenge.

So there's this really terrific lightning storm right now, very close in to Northwest Bellingham and if the lessening seconds before the thunder is any indication, it's moving closer. It's been a busy few months, with a couple new items of discussion: I am a published author! Not too much, but I got a couple features in a local outdoor-centric magazine and grabbed two front-page little stories for a local newspaper. Holy shit, I am about to turn 25 and I'm poor, unemployed and in Bellingham. Upside? I'm pretty fucking happy.

So umm, what now? I was quite accustomed to planning my life by quarters and school years and summer breaks and Christmas vacations. But that's all said and done for now. I am starting to see why I drug out graduation for so long.

I think I figured out healthcare. The countries that developed universal healthcare first - like Norway, the UK, Japan and other nations - were completely fucked over in WWII.
