Happy birthday to you! Mine is the 4th. I'd thought about making some big gears to put up as decorations or maybe printing some pictures of steam engines, etc, but it was Stacey's gig and I hadn't seen the place where they held the party until that night, so I wasn't sure what could be put up, if we could put things on the walls or what surfaces there were there. There are a lot of ideas for things to decorate with out there, which is what is so cool about steampunk!
(points to icon) I've been thinking of creating a steampunk outfit for my mini schnauzer, Sasha. She's nearly 3 now, that icon is from when she was a puppy. I used to make outfits for her and she needs a steamy one.
Try http://doggles.com/ for dog goggles - there are some pretty neat ones (though my husband has said "no way!"), and they have a practical use as well, especially if your dog is a "hang my head out the window on the highway" type.
