The stockings are cotton ones from sockdreams.com, they are called 'vertically inclined' if you want to look them up, and very nice they are too.

I do like this idea, but I have one minor criticism. Why did you go with velcro for the fastening as opposed to something like a buckle? Was it a weight issue, because I could imagine that something swinging around on the end of a long line of webbing like that would be quite the hazard?

Apart from that, I really like the idea! :)

I went back and forth over using buckles or not, but in the end I preferred the cleanness of the velcro for the overall look. There was also the danger of the buckles pulling on the lines of the jacket, which I was quite averse to. The whole look is a balance between her former elegance and her going to ruin now. I hope I got just enough fuss, just enough refinement.

Wow that is awesome outfit. I love the mix of the soft and ruff textures in it. The pictures with the water are really pretty.
