A month of antibiotics hasn't cured Max of his stomach problems. I stopped giving him meds on Sunday. A few minutes ago he was drooling, pawing at his mouth, and gagging -- all signs of nausea. I gave him a dose of one of the antibiotics. Tomorrow morning I'll call the vet and see what he thinks ( Read more... )

Say hello to Max, a four year-old male silver ferret. He's a big 'un, too: longer and heavier than Ouzo, and both are at a good, healthy weight. aliencrabcakes, B, and I met him at the Big Lick Ferret Shelter two weeks ago. Seriously. I'm sitting on the floor in the living room with my back against the sofa. Ouzo's being a crazed, happy, playful weasel -- in my pants. They're loose-fitting pajama pants. A short, hairy European has staked his claim on my bed. His name is Ouzo, and frankly, he's a bit stinky. But he's so freakin' cute curled up under the covers that I really don't have a choice other than leaving him there.

I love ferrets. :)
