[The word 'demon' piques Waka's interest. Human demons were very dangerous in his world...but this one seems harmless. Still, his eyes are a little wary as he cocks his head to the demon and smiles.]

I'm sure the future of this world is secure, Overlord or no. I think even she has little presence in the true course of events in Somarium. Who knows what dictates the laws, but it certainly is not one of us. [Cryptic prophet is cryptic.]

Ah, but that very lack of presence is the problem, you see. An Overlord should be in control of their own domain. Without a firm guiding hand such as my own, I simply cannot see how security can be assured.

[He bows, hand holding the rose across his chest.]

But of course! No demon lord worthy of the name could not deliver a stirring oratory on demand.

Danny's standing off to one side, having somehow been at the right (?) place and time to hear the whole thing.

He thinks about the call-to-arms for a moment, folding his arms. Hmm, should he really join forces with an egotistical, annoying wierdo from some random world against the powerful, ghostly Overlord of Somarium?

Pass? You would truly pass on such an opportunity to be the vassal of one such as moi? Surely, you must have a good reason for such a blatent dismissal!

Indeed, Danny seems about as receptive to the demon's 'noble qualities' as a brick wall.

"Yeah. For one thing, there's nothing wrong with the Overlord we have now." Aside from her being creepy, possibly capable of dreaming up monsters, and living-challanged, of course.

Nothing? I would beg to differ! What if this world was to suddenly be invaded by one of the many Netherworlds? I assure you, this is quite possible, and strong, visible leadership would be useful - indeed, required for survival!

[Such a strong argument! The boy must be at least somewhat swayed.]

Bakura looks at him and Laughs. "KYAHAHAHAHAHA! The only ruler I need is Zork! You can go do what ever the hell you want! Psycho." he says still laughing insanely.

He didn't really have any idea what was going on. But the man with the rose was too amusing not to laugh at.

My dear boy, this 'Zork' of yours is clearly not a factor in this world - I have not heard a single person mention his name. You should perhaps choose your masters more carefully - one who does not simply abandon you would be a good start.

"you are the one who should watch what you say!" Bakura snaps. "I might call him my ruler, but Zork and I are partners! He needs me as much as I need him!" he glares at the other man. "SO, he would never abandon me." Bakura finishes his timing slightly off.

He really didn't have any idea what the other man was talking about, but it felt good to argue. VERY good. he snickers and waits for the other's response.

He needs you? [Vyers raises an eyebrow in amusement.] Vassals are of course useful, hence why I seek them. But to be dependent on one would be a serious sign of weakness in any demon lord.

But if you should choose to follow such a pathetic one, that is entirely your choice. I have simply presented a better one.

Haku raised an eyebrow in skepticism. "I'll admit that effective leadership is something important in society," he said slowly, "but I've been here for a month and I've gotten along just fine without you ruling me."

He shrugged. "As far as I can see, there's no reason for me to follow you, even if you DID become Overlord."

I am sure you are making a passable life for yourself without guidance, but I propose to improve it! A single figure of leadership whose decisions are followed by all opens so many glorious doors for change, after all.
