So I cleared out for the cleaning woman today, figuring that two hours would be more than enough time for her to finish.  I ended my errands and meanderings by picking up the things on my list to do marathon holiday goodie prep* and headed back upstairs to our apartment.

I usually find daytime TV selections too aggravating to have on even as background noise when the place feels a little too quiet before I go do work.  Yesterday, though, I didn't have to be at work until 3 in the afternoon and I found myself turning the TV on for "company" while I had lunch ( Read more... )

I cannot believe how much mental, emotional, and physical energy has gone into getting settled into this residence!  I've never owned a home before and I'm starting to feel a little bit like I suspect new parents might feel when it comes to re-entering their social group with a really big thing having happened.

The husband and I were invited to join a couple who are our close friends and that husband's parents for dinner last night.  Really nice to have the time with them, plus the restaurant they took us to was one that I'd been wanting to try for a long time.
