"Taisuke?" There was definite surprise in Yamashita's voice when he opened the door and found his kouhai there. "Why are you here?"
Taisuke looked up and gave Yamashita an awkward smile. "S-sorry...I just wasn't sure where to go...I don't want to worry my family..." He bit down on his lip. "I wasn't sure if you were going to be home or not..."
Hearing that, Yamashita immediately knew something had happened. Before replying, he ushered Taisuke into the apartment and closed the door first. He then turned to Taisuke and asked, "Did something happen?"
There was no answer at first. Seeing that, Yamashita sighed softly and got Taisuke to take off his shoes before leading the other to the living room. "Have a seat. I'll make us tea, then we can talk, okay?"
Taisuke nodded and sat down, hugging his legs close to his chest as he waited for Yamashita to come back. It didn't take long and soon, Yamashita was offering him a cup before sitting beside down beside him.
"Talk to me now?"
Sipping the tea slowly, Taisuke glanced at Yamashita a few times before saying, "A lot has happened in such a short time ne..."
Yamashita chuckled lightly, "I figured out that much...it's only been a week or so since we last saw each other, right?" He smiled gently and placed a hand on Taisuke's head, petting lightly. "What happened?"
"I...I don't really know either..." Taisuke let out a small sigh. "Or well, I don't know where to begin...?"
"Begin where you think it's right to begin? Whatever you feel comfortable to say, Taisuke."
Taisuke took a deep breath and said, "I kissed Wataru."
"Ha!?"
Taisuke blushed. "Ah...actually, Wataru kissed me first..."
Yamashita's eyes widened. This was definitely not what he had expected to hear. "How did that happen? Weren't you saying he has a girlfriend? You were upset because you knew he wouldn't look at you, right? Then how-"
At Yamashita's reaction, Taisuke couldn't help but giggle slightly. He supposed a reaction like that should have been expected. For sure Yamashita would not have expected something like that to happen. He hadn't expected the turn of events himself. "He...he broke up with her.."
Knitting his eyebrows together, Yamashita asked, "So? That doesn't mean he should be kissing you, right?"
Taisuke managed a small smile. "How...should I explain this? Wataru...Wataru said that I was the reason they broke up. His girlfriend...complained about Wataru caring about me too much... Then, somehow, they broke up, and Wataru showed up at my house..."
Yamashita immediately grabbed Taisuke's shoulders, shaking him lightly. "Oi, don't tell me he was drunk or something! You let him stay over? What you'd guys do?"
Taisuke's cheeks were tinted a dark red. "We didn't h-have s-sex if that's what you were thinking!"
Yamashita stared at Taisuke, studying the other's expression. "But you guys did more than just kissing, right? Don't deny it. You're easy to read, Taisuke."
Too embarrassed to answer, Taisuke decided to ignore that comment. "When Wataru told me that...I was really happy. I didn't expect Wataru to feel anything other than friendship towards me at all. Is it...is it bad that I'm glad he broke up with her?" He turned to meet Yamashita's eyes.
A gentle smile, Yamashita shook his head. "No, not bad at all. It's okay to feel that way. I think anyone would, to know that you have a chance with someone you like." He drank some of his tea before putting down the cup on the coffee table. "What's the problem then? What you told me right now shouldn't make you look like this. You should be happier, right?"
Taisuke bit down on his lip. The next part was hard. Yamashita didn't know about his cutting at all. How was he going to tell the other? He didn't want Yamashita to know, but if he was going to tell Yamashita about Yokoo and Kitayama, then he would have to mention it, wouldn't he? His hand subconsciously touched his inner thigh, where the scars were.
Yamashita noticed the movement of Taisuke's hand and had a feeling what Taisuke wanted to say. "He found out?" he asked softly.
Head snapping upwards in surprise, Taisuke stared at Yamashita. The other already knew? "Y-Yamashita-kun?"
"Yamapi," Yamashita corrected with a smile. "Remember how you fell asleep on me and Koki? We changed your clothes..." He placed his hand on Taisuke's head. "Sorry we didn't tell you..."
"K-Koki-kun knew too?" Taisuke whispered. He lowered his head. He really made them worry about him, didn't he?
Yamashita wrapped an arm around Taisuke's shoulders and pulled the younger one closer to him, taking the cup away so the tea won't spill. "But you're not doing it anymore, right? That's the important thing. We'll support you, Taisuke, but we don't want you to hurt yourself anymore."
"...s-sorry..." Taisuke mumbled.
Smiling, Yamashita replied, "No need to apologize..." He paused before continuing, "Yokoo found out, so how did he react?"
"I...I sort of avoided the topic," Taisuke murmured. "But I'm sure Wataru figured it out...that I was cutting because of him. He tried to confront me about it...and that's when he was going to say it, I was sure. That he liked me." He hugged his knees even closer to his chest if possible. "I was scared. I didn't know if I should trust Wataru or not. What if...what if he was just feeling guilty? I know he broke up with his girlfriend because of me, but to actually confess, that's different, right?"
Yamashita listened quietly. "So, you didn't get a chance to actually talk to Yokoo about all these? I'm guessing it's been a few days, so his thoughts and feelings should be steadier, right? You should talk to him properly. Find out what he feels and thinks, then you can decide if you can trust him or not."
"But..."
"But what?"
"Hiro..."
A look of understanding appeared on Yamashita's face. "You're worried about what Kitayama would think if you decide to accept Yokoo?"
Taisuke shook his head. "It's not that just that..." He looked up at Yamashita. "Hiro said he loves me. On the same day as Wataru found out..."
Yamashita blinked before muttering to himself, "Kitayama sure knows how to pick the timing." He cleared his throat then asked, "Who do you like more though?"
"Wataru," Taisuke said it without hesitation. He immediately lowered his head though. "I do like Hiro though...if I didn't feel something, then I wouldn't..." He wouldn't be that kind of relationship with the other. "Hiro has done so much for me..."
Smiling gently, Yamashita said, "That'd be the same, wouldn't it?"
"Eh?"
"If you're afraid that Yokoo wants to be with you because of guilt, won't Kitayama feel the same way? Right now, it sounds like to me, you're considering to return Kitayama's feelings only because he has done so much, because you feel guilty."
"I..." Taisuke bit down on his lip.
"How'd you reply to Kitayama anyways?"
Taisuke turned his head slightly to glance at Yamashita. "I...I told Hiro that sorry, I'd have to think about it..." He twisted his fingers together. "Hiro said he understood and that he'll wait for a proper reply from me..."
Patting Taisuke on the shoulders - he understood the situation now - Yamashita asked, "So, are you here just to talk, or?"
Meeting Yamashita's gaze, Taisuke shifted slightly before asking in a small voice, "Do you think...I can stay over for a few days?"
Yamashita looked surprised at Taisuke's request. "Stay over? Sure, but why?"
"I...it's been two days since that happened, and it's kind of awkward at rehearsal, and the upcoming few days will be a break for my group..." Taisuke started playing with his own fingers again. "Somehow, I know Wataru or Hiro will come find me, and I don't want to talk to them yet..."
"Running away then?" Yamashita concluded with a raised eyebrow.
Taisuke started to shake his head before mumbling, "Maybe...just a little..." He turned his head upwards. "I really want to have time to think before talking to either of them though...and I know if I stay at home, I'll only worry the rest of my family..."
Yamashita chuckled, "I think you're already worrying by choosing to stay over."
"...I told them you invited me over to catch up and stuff?" Taisuke responded with a light blush.
A second and Yamashita burst out in laughter. "You totally expected me to say yes then! Tsk, lying to your family..."
"Just for a few days! Really!" Taisuke exclaimed. "I promise I'll really think about it and make sure I talk to Wataru and Hiro before our break ends..."
Yamashita reached out and ruffled Taisuke's hair. "Alright, alright you can stay. I'll have to get the guest room ready and all that then." He got up. "You got everything else?"
"Un," Taisuke with a nod.
"You really do have everything prepared, don't you?" Just as Yamashita was about to walk away, he turned back around. "Are you planning to tell anyone else you're here? I doubt you would tell Kitayama and Yokoo, that's for sure."
Taisuke shook his head. "I don't plan to tell anyone...but I'll pick up my cellphone! ...unless it's Wataru or Hiro..." He looked away briefly.
"Mh...~ Alright," Yamashita nodded. "You stay here and finish your tea then. I'll call you when the room is ready. You don't have to do anything," he added before the other could ask.
At that, Taisuke immediately stopped getting up and fell back on to the sofa. "Hai..." He watched Yamashita walk away, his heart feeling a little warm to know that his senpai really did care for him, going along with his selfish request.
He really needed to figure out what he feel and want within these few days.
Yokoo was surprised to say the least when he got the invitation from Koki to go get a drink with him and Yamashita. Despite the fact that he of course knew the two senpai pretty well, the combination of the three of them was rare. If Koki and Yamashita invited Taisuke or Kitayama, it would make much more sense, but him? He couldn't help but wonder why.
Pulling out his cellphone, Yokoo decided to call Taisuke once more before entering the club. He had tried to call more than a few times, but the other didn't pick up. He knew the other was probably doing that on purpose, but that didn't stop him from calling. He really wanted to talk to the younger one.
Sighing when the phone just kept on ringing, Yokoo pressed the button and slipped the cellphone back into his pocket. Once he was inside the club, he started to look around, trying to find the two who invited him.
It took him a while, but he finally spotted the two sitting at a semi-private booth, near the back of the club. Yokoo went closer before greeting them, "Yamashita-kun, Koki-kun."
"Yo, Yokoo," Koki grinned and gave him a wave, motioning Yokoo to sit down beside him.
"Order a drink?" Yamashita said.
"It's okay. I'll just have water," Yokoo replied, still remembering where he turned up after drinking quite a bit last time. He doubt Koki and Yamashita would let him drink that much as his senpai, but still. He also had a feeling it was best not to drink alcohol since it seemed like the two wanted to talk to him.
Yamashita sipped his own drink before saying, "Well, I guess it's best to get straight to the point..."
Koki nodded his head agreement. "Right."
"So, what do you think about Taisuke?" Yamashita asked.
Yokoo blinked, but he couldn't say he was surprised. He knew the other two would want to talk to him about it. He might as well be honest then, since he assumed the two already knew pretty much everything. "I like him," he said without hesitation.
Yamashita and Koki glanced at each other. "I see," Koki replied. "You told Taisuke that yet?"
Yokoo shook his head. "Tai-chan won't pick when I call. I heard other people managed to reach him. It's just me...and Kitayama."
"Mh," Yamashita didn't comment too much on that.
Koki went on with the questions though, "You didn't go to his house and try to meet him then?"
"I was going to," Yokoo admitted, "but I know Tai-chan. If he doesn't pick my phone calls, then he won't meet me. Even if he does, just so he won't worry his family if I do go to his house, he won't actually end up listening to me... I did promise myself I should give Tai-chan time too..."
"That sounds about right," Yamashita muttered to himself.
Yokoo had to smile slightly. They all really do care about Taisuke. "And I know...there's Hiro..."
Yamashita raised an eyebrow here. "You know about Kitayama?"
A somewhat sad perhaps expression appeared on Yokoo’s expression. "I...I overheard Hiro's confession to be honest. I know he cares about Taisuke..."
Koki pressed, "What about you then? You said you like Taisuke, but you know the reason he didn't say yes, right? What are you going to do about that?"
Yokoo looked at the two of them with determination. "I like Tai-chan. That's the truth. I...I can't deny I do feel guilty about making Tai-chan sad...but that's not the reason I want to be with Tai-chan. I really, really do want to stay by his side because I like him..."
Yamashita crossed his arms over his chest. "You'll have to convince Taisuke that though. You know how stubborn he can be."
Smiling fondly, Yokoo nodded his head. "I know. I'll do my best, once Taisuke would listen to me."
Koki still had a question though. "What if Taisuke decided to accept Kitayama though? What would you do?" Taisuke was their dear kouhai, so of course they have to make sure Yokoo won't hurt the other again.
Yokoo didn't answer for a second, lowering his head. When he raised his head again, he replied, "I trust Hiro. Hiro...can definitely make Tai-chan happy, but I'll only let go when I'm sure Tai-chan is happy. If I think I can do a better job, I'll definitely try my best to get Tai-chan come back to me."
"What, and you think you can make Tai-chan happy?"
Yokoo nodded once. "I can."
Yamashita and Koki shared a smile. "Well," Yamashita said, "what you said sounds pretty satisfactory to me..." He narrowed his eyes. "If you hurt Tai-chan, you know you'll have quite the amount of people going after you, right?"
Yokoo chuckled dryly. "I think I do."
Koki patted Yokoo on the shoulders. "Good luck on getting Taisuke to listen to you then."
Author's Notes: Other than the fact this chapter is sort of crappy and like rushed plotline-wise, and like, just ugh, mh, yes, I didn't skip anything. The chapter does start off with you never actually getting to read the scene between Hiro and Taisuke. //whacked// I had never planned to write it in the first place. XD;
And um, Yokoo with Yamapi and Koki, rofl. Does anyone feel like it's like he's meeting his in-laws or something? XDDD It's like, alright, we approve of you, and we'll give you our daughter son, Taisuke. //whacked// XDDD;;;
Anyways, yep, not much to say. Seriously, not my best chapter. Or well, I'm rarely satisfied with my own writing, so I guess that's nothing new.
Comments are love and appreciated~
