"So...how did that dinner go?" Kitayama nudged Taisuke as they walked down the streets of Shibuya. It was one of those rare days that they would go out shopping together, since they usually hang out with different people.
A light blush appeared on Taisuke's face before looking around him as if wanting to distract Kitayama from his expression. "It...it went fine. I had fun."
"Sou? That's good." Because he was looking around, Taisuke missed the complicated look that appeared on Kitayama's face that disappeared almost as quickly as it appeared.
Taisuke nodded his head. Then he added shyly, "He...he turned off his cellphone when a phone came in, saying he didn't want anyone to disturb our dinner." He paused. "Is it...is it weird to feel happy about that? I was so scared our night was going to be ruined by that phone call..."
Kitayama cursed his luck and wondered why he didn't bring up the topic whenever they were in a more private place. He just wanted to pull Taisuke right into his arms right now and comfort the younger one. Placing a hand on Taisuke's arm, he shook his head, "No, I don't think it's weird."
Giving Kitayama a small smile, Taisuke said, "Sou ka..."
When they passed by one of the shops, Kitayama dragged Taisuke into it. Silence fell over them as they started to go through the various pieces of clothing in the store.
"What do you think of this?" Kitayama held up a black t-shirt.
"Huh? Oh...it looks pretty good." Taisuke blinked and went back to looking at the clothes mindlessly.
Kitayama raised an eyebrow. "Taisuke?"
A small, inaudible sigh slipped from Taisuke's lips. "Ne, Hiro..."
"Hm?" Kitayama put back the t-shirt on the rack and moved closer to Taisuke, showing that he was listening.
"I...I know you said to confess to Wataru..." Taisuke nibbled on his lower lip. "But...but after the dinner, I thought...yappari, it's better this way. Because of Wataru's personality, he can be close to anyone, and that includes me." He started playing with the hem of his shirt nervously. "If I confess, and something gets awkward, he won't treat me like that anymore. I'll lose Wataru totally..." Lowering his head, he tried to stop the wetness in his eyes from falling. "I'd...I'd rather be with Wataru like that forever..."
Kitayama clenched his hand into a fist by his side. "Tai-chan..."
Taisuke turned around and smiled at Kitayama, which looked very awkward in the other's opinion. "I'll...I'll try not to be so affected by Wataru anymore..."
Sucking in his breath, Kitayama decided to screw the public's opinion and grabbed Taisuke's hand, dragging the younger one out of the store. Despite how much he had hoped Taisuke's feelings would stop affecting him negatively, he hated that forceful, awkward smile on Taisuke's face even more.
"H-Hiro? W-what's wrong?" Taisuke stumbled after Kitayama. "Where are w- ...W-Wataru?"
Kitayama stopped in his steps when he heard Taisuke and felt the other stop moving. "What?" He turned his head around when he saw what Taisuke had noticed.
Walking across the street towards them was Yokoo. With a girl hanging off his arm.
Kitayama wasn't quite sure how to react when he could feel Taisuke shaking through their connected hands. It didn't seem like Yokoo noticed them yet. Trying to save the situation, he tugged on Taisuke's arm. "Tai-chan, let's go!"
It was almost like Taisuke didn't hear him. He flung Kitayama's hand away and took an unsteady step towards the oblivious couple. "Wa...Wataru...?" His voice was shaky and almost full of disbelief.
Perhaps Yokoo heard him, because the older one had stopped in his steps and looked up, Taisuke staring at him with shock coming into his view. Kitayama noticed how Yokoo's face seem to pale at that moment. He couldn't help but wonder why.
"T-Tai-chan?" Yokoo then noticed the person behind Taisuke. "Hiro?"
"Wataru, what's wrong?" The girl looked up at Yokoo, tugging on Yokoo's arm.
Taisuke's eyes focused on the girl's hands on Yokoo's arms. He shuddered and sucked in his breath, trying to suppress his emotions. "O-on a...a d-date?" he managed to say. "I...I didn't know...W-Wataru h-had a g-girlfriend..."
"I..." Yokoo looked at Taisuke with an unreadable expression.
"Ah!" All attention went to the girl. "I know you guys! You're in Wataru's group, right? Fujigaya-kun and Kitayama-kun?" She smiled at Taisuke. "Nice to meet you, I'm Wataru's..." She reached out to take Taisuke’s hand in a handshake.
Before he even knew what he was doing, Taisuke had flinched away from the girl's touch. "G-gomen..." he mumbled, lowering his head. "I...I don't feel v-very well..." His voice was starting to shake again.
Kitayama, seeing what was happening, quickly grabbed Taisuke's arm. "Sorry. I'm going to bring Tai-chan home. We'll talk again during rehearsal." Bowing slightly, he started to drag Taisuke away, leaving the other two watch them go away.
"T-Tai-chan!" Yokoo's cry was heard, but was ignored.
Kitayama had to resist the urge to pull Taisuke right into his arms as he could feel the younger one shaking. He started to curse Yokoo in his mind. Just when Taisuke was going to let go of his feelings just a little, what on earth was Yokoo doing? Just when Kitayama thought about not needing to punch Yokoo, now he wanted to kill the other one.
Growling lowly, Kitayama tightened his grip on Taisuke's arm and hurriedly found a taxi. He knew Taisuke wouldn't want to take the train at all. Screw the taxi prices. Telling the taxi driver Taisuke's address, he leaned back into the seat and pulled Taisuke into his arms. Now that they were in private, somewhat, he could finally do that.
"Taisuke," Kitayama spoke softly, "cry if you want..."
But Taisuke didn't cry. He just buried his face into Kitayama's chest and clutched on to the other's shirt tightly as he continued to shake.
Kitayama looked down at Taisuke worriedly, tightening his arms around the other. As they were getting closer to Taisuke's house, he fervently hoped that someone in Taisuke's family was home. At this rate, he was scared that Taisuke would totally break down if there was no one home and he had no reason to hold back. Then again, maybe Taisuke breaking down was better than him just shaking in his arms. It scared Kitayama.
They soon arrived at Taisuke's house. Kitayama shook the younger one in his arms slightly. "Tai-chan? We arrived..."
It took a few seconds, but Taisuke slowly let go of Kitayama's shirt and got off the taxi almost robotically. Kitayama paid the taxi driver and quickly followed Taisuke into the house.
His heart nearly stopped when he saw Taisuke kicking off his shoes and started running almost immediately. "Fuck. Taisuke, get back here!"
Kitayama ran after Taisuke into the house and swore again when he saw the other run into the washroom and was about to close door. He slammed his body towards the door and tried to keep it open. "Tai-chan, stop it!"
"Leave me alone!" Taisuke cried out. He tried to push the door close, but it was hard with Kitayama blocking it. "Leave me alone, Hiro!" Tears had finally started to roll down his cheeks and sobs broke through.
"No." Kitayama said firmly as he felt his heart clench at the sight of Taisuke's tears and the pain he could hear in the other's voice. "No, I won't leave you alone!"
Taisuke didn't stop crying. "Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" He pushed the door even harder and slowly, Kitayama was being pushed away.
Kitayama let out a noise of frustration. "No, you stop it, Taisuke! You know cutting won't help you at all!" he yelled out.
Suddenly, the force behind the door disappeared. Kitayama quickly stood back up properly and opened the door slowly. He swallowed and bit on his lips when he saw Taisuke slumped on the washroom floor, sobs racking through his body.
Kneeling down gingerly, as if the slightest move would scare Taisuke, Kitayama wrapped his arms around Taisuke and pulled the other towards his chest. "Tai-chan..." he mumbled, burying his face into the other's hair.
"Hiro..." Taisuke cried out brokenly. His arms just hang limp against his side as he cried into Kitayama's chest.
Stroking Taisuke's back, Kitayama murmured, "Didn't you say you were going to be satisfied with your relationship with Wataru? You knew if you guys stayed that way, then there was a chance that Wataru would get a girlfriend..."
Taisuke didn't answer and just continued to cry, letting his tears fall on to Kitayama's shirt, wetting the fabric.
"Besides..." Kitayama continued, "We don't know for sure if that's Wataru's girlfriend, right? Wataru didn't say anything...but he didn't say yes either. Tai-chan..."
There was a sniffle. "S-She has to be..."
"Why?" Kitayama asked softly.
"That night...W-Wataru k-kis..." Before he could finish the word, another sob broke through and Taisuke started to cry again.
Kitayama had to pause at Taisuke's words. A few events clicked in his mind and his eyes widened. "Tai-chan...that night you fainted...and Yamashita-kun and Koki-kun took care of you. You saw Wataru...?"
Taisuke shook his head furiously and just continued to cry. He finally moved his arms and wrapped one around Kitayama and another curled its fingers into Kitayama's shirt.
Things started to make a bit more sense in Kitayama's mind. He knew Taisuke didn't want to be reminded of the incident though, so he stopped speaking. Leaning back on the wall, he gathered Taisuke closer into his arms and just tried to calm the other down, stroking his hair.
In his mind, Kitayama started cursing Yokoo once again. That idiot probably didn't even know what Taisuke saw, didn't even think of that as a possibility. So that girl has to be Yokoo's girlfriend then. There was no other explaination.
When he felt Taisuke's sobs dying down, Kitayama looked down. "Tai-chan...what are you going to do?" His strokes got softer until they were just light touches on the other's head.
"I...I don't know..." Taisuke admitted with a sniffle. He knew how easily his decision could be affected after that and he felt lost about what to do.
"If...Wataru is in a relationship now," Kitayama didn't dare to say girlfriend, "then maybe your decision before was correct. Just be friends with him..."
Taisuke looked up at Kitayama with glassy eyes. "R-really?"
Kitayama nodded and buried his nose in Taisuke's hair. "Just...just do whatever you think it's right, Tai-chan. I'll support you no matter what. I'll be by your side."
"Hiro..." Taisuke stared up at Kitayama as tears started to form in his eyes again.
"Oh God, don't look at me like that, Taisuke..." Kitayama mumbled as he leaned down and placed soft kisses on both of Taisuke's eyelids. "I won't be able to resist." He moved his lips downwards and planted a kiss on Taisuke's nose before covering Taisuke's lips with his own.
The kiss was soft and slow, just Kitayama's lips pressed against Taisuke's, moving ever so slightly. When Kitayama finally pulled back, Taisuke's tears had stopped. Taisuke fluttered his eyes opened. "Thank you, Hiro..." he whispered.
Kitayama tightened his hold on Taisuke. "Just come to me when you need to cry again, Tai-chan. Don't ever, don't ever try to hurt yourself again...it's enough, Tai-chan."
Taisuke nodded his head with a sniffle and buried his head in the crook of Kitayama's neck.
After staying silent for sometime, just relishing each other's presence, Kitayama spoke up. "Will you...be able to go to rehearsal tomorrow?" He wanted to smack himself when he felt Taisuke stiffen in his arms. "I mean, you don't have to. It's nothing important anyways. You can afford to miss a few days..."
His voice died down when Taisuke started to lift himself away from Kitayama and sat up properly. Taisuke stopped for a second before shaking his head. "No...I don't need to take a break. I'll be fine." He gave Kitayama a bitter smile. "I can't run away forever, can I?"
"No, you can't..." Kitayama said. "But I hate that ugly smile of yours even more." He pressed his forehead against Taisuke's and looked straight into Taisuke's eyes. "When will that bright smile I love return on Taisuke's face?"
Taisuke sniffled and lowered his eyes. "I...I don't know..." he whispered back. He didn't want Kitayama to worry about him anymore, but he didn't know how to promise the other such things when he had no answers himself.
Kitayama sighed and just satisfied himself with hugging Taisuke close. After a while, he finally decided they had stayed on the cold tiled floor long enough. Shifting a bit, he said, "Let's get up, Tai-chan?"
Nodding his head, Taisuke got up from the floor slowly, holding on to Kitayama's hand. He kept his head lowered as the other led him out of the washroom and towards his own bedroom.
"So, where should we go out for dinner?"
"Eh?" Taisuke looked up at Kitayama in surprise as he was seated on the bed.
Kitayama smiled down at Taisuke. "Well, we were supposed to hang out for the whole day, right?" He stretched his arms. "After all that, I think I can eat quite a bit. What do you think?"
Taisuke blinked before giving Kitayama a small smile. "I guess...I don't really mind what we eat. Hiro can choose."
Tapping a finger against his chin, Kitayama thought out loud. "If I'm going to eat a lot, I'd rather someone pay for me. But I don't want you to pay either, so..." He grinned and tugged out his cellphone from his jeans' pocket. "Why don't we call Yamashita-kun and Koki-kun and let them treat us?"
Eyes widening, Taisuke exclaimed in surprise, "Yamashita-kun and Koki-kun? Why?"
Kitayama's expression softened. "Because they're both worried about you too, Tai-chan."
"E-eh?"
Chuckling lightly at Taisuke's expression, Kitayama explained, "They visited our rehearsal room a while ago and asked me how you were doing. I think it'd be nice if you can prove it to them yourself you're doing well, right?"
Taisuke shook slightly and dropped his head. Seeing how the other reacted, Kitayama sat down on the bed beside Taisuke and wrapped an arm around the other. "You have a lot of people who worry about you, Tai-chan..." he murmured. "Don't let them down, alright?"
Still keeping his head down, Taisuke nodded his head. "Un..." he replied quietly.
Kitayama smiled. "Good. I'll call Yamashita-kun and Koki-kun to see if they're free. Then we can figure out what we want to eat and make sure we leave a hole in our senpais' wallets!"
Finally, a small giggle escaped Taisuke's lips. "I don't think that's a good idea, Hiro."
The expression on Kitayama's face brightened even more. "Why not? If they're so worried about their kouhai, it only makes sense to invite them out for dinner or something and pay as well!"
"You're not making any sense, Hiro," Taisuke said with another giggle.
"I'm just glad you're feeling better." Kitayama pressed a kiss on Taisuke's nose. Then he started to call the two mentioned senpai on his cellphone.
Touching where Kitayama kissed him, Taisuke hoped he really could be satisfied with a normal friendship with Yokoo.
Author's Note: THIS IS A MIRACLE. DON'T EVER EXPECT THAT FROM ME AGAIN. //coughs// I wasn't supposed to start the next chapter so soon...but I was in this horribly weird, strange mood last night and I thought I should write something extremely emotional to deal with it...and the mood disappeared when I only wrote half a page of the chapter. Then, I didn't want to just leave it alone because it was an emotional chapter and I didn't want to lose the emotions for it. So I finished it. //dies//
I...I don't even know what to say anymore. //kicks Wataru and huggles Taisuke// My Taisuke muse is acting up on me...and I don't know what to do with him. Honestly. //headdesk//
I cried writing this. I just reread it and I cried again. //headdesk//
Everyone must love Hiro by now and hate Wataru. What happened to the YoSuke love? I mean...they're still the main pairing...>.>''
Anyways...I think that's it.
Comments are love~
