Part Five

"Tai-chan, do you want to go out to dinner together tonight?"

"Eh?" Taisuke looked up from tying his shoelaces. "Wataru?"

Yokoo shuffled on his feet, looking slightly nervous. "Well, we didn't get to go out the last time right? So I thought we should go out tonight to make up for it..." He looked at Taisuke. "Do you have time?"

Taisuke just stared at Yokoo. Should he go out with the other? Even though he didn't want to spend time alone with the other, he realized he also miss the other a lot. He had been so busy staying away from Yokoo that he kind of regretted it. Certainly nothing can happen during just one dinner.

He smiled at Yokoo and nodded his head. "Ii yo~ I'll call Okaasan and tell her I won't be coming back then."

A relieved smile appeared on Yokoo's face. "Alright. How does the usual family restaurant we go to sound? Or do you want to go for something new tonight?"

Tilting his head, Taisuke thought about it for a second before answering, "The usual sounds good. I haven't been there in a while anyways." He gave Yokoo a small smile.

The expression on Yokoo’s face brightened immensely. "Alright! I'll go grab my stuff now. See you in five or so?"

Taisuke nodded his head and waved at Yokoo, watching the older one run off. He gave a small inaudible sigh and started to pack his things as well. He jumped a little when he felt someone poking him from the back. Snapping his head around, he exclaimed, "Hiro!"

Kitayama gave him a look. "Are you going out with Wataru tonight?"

Pausing for a bit, Taisuke nodded his head slowly. "Un..."

It seemed like Kitayama wanted to say something when he changed his mind. "Just...take care of yourself, okay?" He rested a hand on Taisuke's arm. "Relax and enjoy your dinner with Wataru." He paused. "Try...try not to think too much."

Taisuke gave Kitayama a small smile and patted the hand on his arm. "Daijoubu. It's just dinner. I'll be alright." He knew Kitayama was worried about something happening like last time, but he wanted to be a bit more positive this time. After all, he really did miss Yokoo's company.

Throwing his bag over his shoulder, Taisuke waved at Kitayama and gave him a reassuring. "Jaa...I'll see you tomorrow ne."

As he headed towards the door after making a call back home, Yokoo seemed to be ready as well. "Let's go?" Yokoo motioned out the door. "I got the car today..."

Taisuke nodded his head and followed Yokoo towards the parking lot. Their short trip to the car was full of awkward silence. Taisuke didn't know what to talk about and it seemed like Yokoo didn't either.

Once they were inside the car, Taisuke took a deep breath. They need to talk. About anything. He didn't want the whole night to end up like that after all.

"Ano..."

Surprised to hear another voice with his, Taisuke looked up. "A-ahh...Wataru, you go first."

Yokoo shook his head. "Tai-chan go first. What did you want to say?"

Clearing his throat embarrassedly, Taisuke said, "N-nothing. I...I was just wondering when will you get to come on Hyakushiki..."

Yokoo blinked, then laughed out loud. "Where did that come from, Tai-chan?"

Taisuke blushed lightly and lowered his eyes shyly. "I don't know," he mumbled. "It just came to me..."

Keeping his eyes on the road as he drove, Yokoo said, "Well, I don't know. You'd have to ask the producer. I would like to come on though...you guys seem to have a lot of fun. And the questions and all that are quite interesting."

Sighing inaudibly in relief, glad that they had seemed to found a safe topic, Taisuke nodded his head. "Un~ It really is fun. Inohara-senpai is really nice to all of us and the recordings outside are really fun too~ Even though I only went once." He gave a sheepish smile.

Yokoo chuckled. "Ah, I really look forward to being on Hyakushiki with Tai-chan na. You better go to the producer and nominate me," he said in a joking voice.

Taisuke blushed at Yokoo's words. "I d-don't know if that'll work...but I'll try."

Yokoo chuckled again. Since there was a traffic light just then, he reached over and ruffled Taisuke's hair, which made the younger one protest. "I'm just joking, Tai-chan. I doubt talking to the producer has any effect."

"You were the one who suggested it..." Taisuke pouted.

"Gomen, gomen," Yokoo said with a half-snicker.

Still pursing his lips, Taisuke asked, "What were you going to say then? When we got on the car."

There was a little pause. A small smile appeared on Yokoo's face. "Nothing. I was just going to say that I'm happy you're eating dinner with me tonight. It feels like it was so long ago we went out together, Tai-chan," he said as he made a turn into a smaller street, towards the restaurant.

His heartbeat started to speed up. There was no way Yokoo's words didn't affect him at all. Yokoo says things that make his heart go crazy too easily. Was that why he fell in love with his best friend?

Realizing that he should say something in response, Taisuke mumbled, "I...I'm happy too."

Yokoo glanced at him and just smiled. Silence fell between them once again, but it was a lot more comfortable than the initial silence. Taisuke snuck a few glances towards Yokoo. He really liked the other's expression when he was concentrated on something...

"What? Is there something on my face?"

Taisuke turned a dark red when he realized he was caught peeking. He quickly shook his head. "N-no! Nothing. There's nothing on your face."

Yokoo looked amused. "Oh? If you say so, Tai-chan. I'll blame you if someone laughs at me on the streets then."

Unable to hold back, Taisuke giggled. "No one would do that, Wataru. Your face looks fine."

"I'm still good-looking then?" Yokoo asked teasingly.

Taisuke tried not to blush, but failed. "S-still...g-good-looking," he said with a stiff nod.

"You don't sound so convincing." Yokoo said with a mock-hurtful tone.

Shaking his head furiously, the words were blurted out before he could stop himself. "Wataru is extremely good-looking!"

Yokoo paused in surprise before bursting out in laughter. "Well, I'm glad you think so, Tai-chan!" Letting go of the steering wheel, he patted Taisuke on the shoulder. "We're here now, so you can continue to praise me in the restaurant, okay Tai-chan?" He chuckled.

Taisuke resisted the urge to hit his head on something. He couldn't believe he let those words slip from his lips. Luckily, Yokoo had thought of them as a joke. He took a few deep breaths and followed Yokoo out of the car, heading towards the restaurant.

Despite the idiotic things he had done, Taisuke decided the night wasn't turning out so bad after all. Somehow from his randomness, they had managed a relaxed atmosphere between the two of them and it was almost like before, when Taisuke had nothing to worry about and they were just hanging out.

Once they were inside the restaurant and were seated at a table, Yokoo handed him a menu. "So, what do you want to eat, Tai-chan?"

Tilting his head slightly, Taisuke studied the menu for a bit. "Beef curry! What about Wataru?"

"Hm...I'll have a katsu don then." After ordering their food, Yokoo turned towards Taisuke. "So, Tai-chan, would you like to continue to compliment my good-looking-ness or pick a different topic?"

Trying not to splutter, Taisuke swallowed before shaking his head. "I'm not going to continue to compliment you! If I do, you'll get too proud of yourself, and you'll really think you're that good-looking." He stuck his tongue out playfully.

"Aww..." Yokoo pouted. "You mean I'm not good-looking after all? But Tai-chan, you said so yourself!"

Taisuke blew a slight raspberry. "Well, I take it back!"

This was good. Just keep on acting normal and have fun with Yokoo. Don't think how much emotions are hidden at the moment and just act like friends with Yokoo. Ignore the crazy heartbeats and blushes on the face. Just act normal.

"How dare you!" Yokoo exclaimed. "Well, you deserve a punishment then!" Reaching over, he started attacking Taisuke’s waist with his long fingers.

Yelping, Taisuke writhed in his seat and tried not to giggle too loudly when Yokoo easily found a few of his ticklish spots. "Wataru!"

Still torturing Taisuke, Yokoo said, "So, Tai-chan, am I good-looking?"

"N-no!" Taisuke managed to gasp out. If they weren't in a restaurant, he would have got up and ran away by now.

"Come on now, Tai-chan. Admit it~" Yokoo slowed down his tickling, but continued poking the other.

Taisuke shook his head. "No. No. No!"

"Tai-chan~" Yokoo shifted his chair closer to Taisuke and blew into his ear. "Admit it now~"

That stream of air did more to Taisuke than Yokoo would ever know. A shiver ran up his spine and he could feel his skin tingling, which made his heart beat faster as well. Why, why did the other do things like this so easily? Taisuke realized he couldn't stop asking himself that question.

Just then, they heard someone clearing their throat. The two of them looked up at the same time and was embarrassed to find the waiter looking at them with a strange expression on his face while carrying their orders.

Lowering his head, Taisuke pushed Yokoo away while he mumbled something incoherent. Yokoo coughed slightly and shifted his chair a bit away as well.

Once their food was placed in front of them, they started eating quietly, still feeling embarrassed about the situation before.

"Oh, Tai-chan, you want to try a piece?"

"Hm?" Taisuke looked up and was surprised when a piece of deep-fried pork was stuffed into his mouth. He blinked and just started chewing without realizing it. By the time his mind processed fully, his cheeks were a dark red.

Yokoo just snickered. "So? Is it good?"

Taisuke swallowed the pork and nodded his head. "U-umai yo..."

"Yosh. I want to try your curry too then." Despite what he said, Yokoo just sat there and looked at Taisuke.

"Eh?" Taisuke blinked at Yokoo.

Yokoo gave Taisuke an exasperated look. "Feed me? I mean, I fed you, so it's your turn to feed me now!"

Didn't Yokoo know that it wasn't a natural thing for boys to be feeding each other in public? Well, no, they were Johnny's and he has fed other people plenty of times, but this was Yokoo and they were in a restaurant...

Taisuke darted his eyes around as Yokoo watched him. Finally, Taisuke gave up. Spooning a generous amount of curry and rice into his spoon, he lifted it to Yokoo's mouth and offered it to the other.

Yokoo grinned and ate the curry. "This is good!"

Mumbling something incoherent yet again, Taisuke went back to eating his dinner. Inwardly though, he couldn't help but smile. Even though they weren't going out with each other, it was times like these that made him feel they were fine the way they were. He didn't want to confess. He didn't want to lose Yokoo at all.

The two of them shared small talk until they finished their dinner and were served a small scoop of ice cream each for dessert. Taking his time with the cold treat, Taisuke nodded away as Yokoo and he discussed the recording for the latest Shokura.

That's when a cellphone's ringtone was heard. Taisuke knew it was Yokoo's. A feeling of dread came over him. "Please don't be that girl. Please don't be that girl." Repeating it like a mantra in his head, Taisuke watched fearfully as Yokoo pulled out his cellphone. He didn't want his night with Yokoo ruined like that. Please don't...

Yokoo's next move surprised him. The other disconnected the call before answering and even turned off his cellphone.

Taisuke's eyes widened slightly. "I-is that okay?" he asked hesitantly. "What if...it was something important?"

Smiling at Taisuke, Yokoo shook his head. "Nah. I don't want our dinner to be disturbed anyways."

Redness rushed up Taisuke's face. How...how was he supposed to react when Yokoo says things like that?

"Tai-chan? Are you alright? Your ice cream is going to melt soon."

Taisuke nodded his head fervently and finished his ice cream quickly. "Daijoubu..." he mumbled.

Yokoo gave him a suspicious look. "You're acting weird...but I guess it's better than before." He asked for the bill. "You're done right? I'll drive you home then."

Nodding his head, Taisuke waited for Yokoo to pay for the bill before getting up and stepping outside the restaurant. "Gouchisousamadeshita~"

Smiling, Yokoo said, "You're welcome," and ruffled Taisuke's hair.

"Mou...Wataru..."

"What?" Yokoo snickered and grinned.

Taisuke pouted slightly before shaking his head. Following Yokoo back towards the car, he thought, he managed to do what Kitayama told him, right? He relaxed and tried not to think about his feelings too much and managed to enjoy himself. Now, if only he could do this more often...

If he only could let go of his feelings that easily, then he wouldn't have to suffer. But there was no way he can let go, despite how much pain he might be feeling. He didn't want to let go at all.

Yamashita raised an eyebrow at Koki who was pacing in front of him. "Well? Do you have an idea?"

"Does it look like I have one?" Koki grumbled.

Chuckling, Yamashita said, "You were the one who said we should knock some sense into Yokoo..."

"Well, you said it was a good idea! Now help me think!" Koki huffed and glared at Yamashita. "I don't want to just approach him out of nowhere... Not only will Yokoo think it's weird, if Fujigaya finds out, then that won't be good either. Even if we meant to help him."

Yamashita crossed his legs and leaned back on the couch. "So what do we do? Get Yokoo drunk and make him confess everything before knocking some sense into him?"

He paused when he saw that Koki had stopped pacing. "Oh no, you don't..."

Koki grinned. "That might not be a bad idea, Yamapi...!"

"Shit."

Author's Note: Taisuke, why are you acting like a girl?! //gets bricked// Supposedly, this full chapter was just focused on YoSuke. So where on earth did you come from, Hiro?! And and the last part! Yamapi and Koki! Okay, so that was my fault...because I wasn't quite sure where to put that part...so I just stuffed it at the end. It was short anyways. //clears throat// I can't tell...but don't think for sure Yamapi and Koki would put that plan to action. Hahaha.

Yay~ So this chapter is more...happy. =3 I...uh...can't guarantee that for the next chapter. >.>''

Next should be a request fic...but I do want to write another chapter soon.

By the way...this is my fourth update this week! o.o One fic per day...oh my gosh. It's a record. //faints//

//coughs// I think that's it for now.

Comments are love~
