Part Two
When Taisuke opened his eyes, it took a while for his mind to fully wake. He just kept on staring at the ceiling, the wheels in his mind yet to start moving. Finally, he sat up slowly, throwing the blanket off him as he looked around the room. He didn’t recognize where he was at all.
Swinging his legs over the edge of the bed, he realized that someone had changed his clothes. At the moment, he was wearing a loose t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. He tugged on it consciously before standing up.
He stretched his arms and stifled a yawn. It had been a good sleep which he knew he needed, whether he wanted to admit it or now. He squinted instinctively as he looked out the window, the sun glaring back at him. Suddenly, he heard some noises coming from outside.
Opening the room's door slowly, he poked his head out, but found no one in the hallway. He stepped out, his feet feeling cold on the wooden floor, and paused for a second before heading towards the source of the noises.
The scene before him surprised him. "Ya-Yamashita-kun?" He coughed slightly when he heard the slight hoarseness in his voice.
Yamashita turned around and grinned at Taisuke. "Yo, Fujigaya-kun. Ohayou." He then turned back around and continued to cook the eggs in the pan.
Taisuke blinked and nodded slowly. "O-ohayou."
When he noticed the other was just standing there, Yamashita waved his hand at Taisuke. "Come and sit down, I'll have breakfast finished soon."
Still in shock, Taisuke just slowly followed Yamashita's instruction and sat down on the dining room table, watching Yamashita's busy figure in the open kitchen. "A-ano..."
"You fell asleep on me," said Yamashita as he served the sunny-side-up eggs on the plates and brought them out to the table.
"Eh?" Taisuke looked up at Yamashita in surprise. He blinked and stared at the plate being set in front of him. It was a classic Western style breakfast with eggs and sausages as well as a piece of toast. He...fell asleep on Yamashita?
Yamashita raised an eyebrow at Taisuke's reaction. "You don't remember anything?"
Taisuke shook his head. "Not...not really."
Placing the other two plates down, Yamashita just smiled and ruffled Taisuke's hair, which earned him a pout. "It's alright. Just enjoy breakfast, okay?"
Just when Taisuke was about to question why there were three plates, he heard a door open and close. A voice called out, "Yamapi, I got the milk!"
"Thanks!"
Turning his head, Taisuke's eyes widened when he saw the familiar figure of Koki appear. "Ko-Koki-kun..."
When he noticed Taisuke sitting there, Koki grinned. "Ah, you're awake, Fujigaya-kun. Did you sleep well?" Taisuke nodded slowly. "That's good. You're kinda heavy to carry, you know that?"
"Eh?" Taisuke blinked in surprise. Scrambling up from his seat, he bowed down deeply. "Gomen nasai! I've caused both of you trouble."
Yamashita chuckled and made Taisuke sit back down. "Don't mind Koki. He's just teasing you. I was the one who carried you and I didn't think you’re heavy at all." He pushed Taisuke's plate closer to the younger one. "In fact, I think you should eat more. You're kind of light for your height, aren't you?"
Taisuke blushed lightly. "N-no. I...I don't think so."
Bringing out three empty glasses, Koki took the milk he just bought and filled the glasses. "Alright, I'm pretty sure the food's getting cold. Let's just start eating? We can discuss Fujigaya-kun's weight later."
Still blushing, Taisuke mumbled an 'Itadakimasu' and waited for the others to do so as well before picking up his fork and starting to eat.
As they ate, Taisuke remained quiet, keeping his eyes on the plate at all times. Yamashita and Koki talked about their latest drama shootings, while shooting the youngest one worried glances every now and then. Of course, Taisuke didn't notice anything at all.
When Taisuke felt like he had enough, he pushed the plate away and looked up. "Gochisousama," he mumbled before smiling at Yamashita and Koki. "Thank you for taking care of me." He bowed his head. "I must have really surprised you guys if I fell asleep on you."
Koki chuckled and shook his head. "Not a problem, Taipi," he said, calling Taisuke by his nickname. "I'm just glad you weren't sick. You need to get some more sleep ne." He reached over and poked the other on the forehead playfully.
Yamashita nodded in agreement. "I called the jimusho for you and said you're taking a rest today, so get some more sleep, okay?"
Taisuke widened his eyes. "I-iie! It's okay. I can still go for rehearsals. It's not that long today anyways. You didn't have to..." He trailed off when Yamashita raised a hand.
"You're getting some rest and that's final." Taisuke just blinked and nodded. It was obvious he wouldn't be able to argue against the other.
Satisfied, Yamashita smiled and asked, "So, Fujigaya-kun, do you want to stay here for the rest of the day? Or should I drive you back to your home?"
Widening his eyes again, Taisuke shook his head. "You don't have to, Yamashita-kun. I can just take the train by myself."
As he stood up, Yamashita picked up the plates, slightly frowning when he noticed Taisuke didn't finish all the food. He couldn't force the other though. After all, he wasn't too sure what was the normal amount of food Taisuke would eat. "Just let me drive you. I don't have any drama shooting until the afternoon anyways. I have time."
Koki nodded his head in agreement. "Just let Yamapi drive you, Taipi. He can be very persistent sometimes. You don't want him to turn Akira on you."
"Oi!" Yamashita slapped Koki over his head. "I don't!"
Snorting, Koki said, "Are you sure about that? I'm sure Taipi here still remember the last time you hung off him for nearly the whole day during filming just because he wouldn't let you take him out for dinner."
"Shut up!" Yamashita slapped Koki over the head again.
Taisuke watched them with wide eyes and finally, a giggle broke through. Covering his mouth with his hand, he started laughing and giggling.
Yamashita and Koki shared a grin. "So, can I drive you then? Otherwise you'll have to explain to the people outside why you have Yamashita Tomohisa hanging off you while you take the train."
His cheeks covered by a light shade of red, Taisuke gasped before answering with a smile. "Wa-wakatta. You can drive me back home."
"Yosh. We'll leave after I wash the dishes then." Yamashita grinned and picked up the empty glasses as well.
Standing up, Taisuke said, "I'll help you, Yamashita-kun."
The older one shook his head. "It's fine. You go keep Koki company."
"But..."
Grabbing Taisuke's arm, Koki started to pull the other away. "No 'but's. Come one, just keep me company until Yamapi's done.”
At the persistence of his senpais, Taisuke could only nod his head and follow Koki to the living room. After Yamashita was finished cleaning up, Taisuke was given a change of clothes. Once they were all ready, they were ushered out the door.
Heading to Yamashita's car, Koki said, "Just drop me off at the train station, Yamapi."
"Okay," replied Yamashita.
Taisuke blinked. "How come Koki-kun gets to be dropped off at the train station and I have to be driven home?"
Yamashita smiled and ruffled Taisuke's hair, causing the other to complain. "Because Fujigaya-kun is special."
A light shade of red covered Taisuke's cheeks. Both Yamashita and Koki started to chuckle at the sight which made him pout in response.
Soon, they were dropping Koki off at the nearby station. "Have fun shooting your drama!" called out Yamapi as Koki waved in response. Turning to Taisuke, he said, "Back home with you."
Taisuke pouted, but didn't complain as Yamashita started to drive away from the station. As Yamashita started to talk about some interesting stories that happened to him lately, Taisuke just nodded his head and gave an occasional chuckle.
His mind was preoccupied with what had happened the night before. He had no recollection of how he ended up with Yamashita and Koki at all. He was supposed to go out to dinner...with Yokoo, right? What happened before? Yokoo must have been worried about him then. He bit on his bottom lip. He remembered leaving with Yokoo, so if he was so tired that he fell asleep, why wasn't it Yokoo who took care of him? He furrowed his eyebrows together.
There was this feeling in him that was telling him he didn't want to remember. He didn't want to remember at all. There was this dull ache in his heart that he instinctively knew it was because of last night.
"...then, it turned out to be my friend’s girlfriend..."
Suddenly, it was like Yamashita's words triggered something in him. Taisuke felt the tears rolling down his cheeks without warning. A sob broke through, causing Yamashita to whip his head around to look at the younger one.
"Fujigaya-kun! What’s wrong?" Yamashita quickly turned into a smaller street and pulled over. "What's wrong?" he asked again.
Taisuke just kept on crying, choking out sobs every so often. He made no move to respond to Yamashita or even wipe his own tears.
Yamashita didn't know what to do. He stared at Taisuke helplessly for a moment before swearing under his breath and grabbed the other's arm, pulling Taisuke into his arms. As he slowly felt his shirt becoming damp, he stroked Taisuke’s back. "Don't cry, Fujigaya-kun," he murmured. "What's wrong?"
Taisuke didn't reply immediately. The moment Yamashita had pulled him in, he just buried his face against Yamashita’s chest, twisting his fingers into the other’s shirt. "Wa-Wataru..."
"Hm?" Yamashita leaned in closer, unable to hear Taisuke due to his muffled voice. "Fujigaya-kun?"
Looking up at Yamashita, his eyes brimming with tears, Taisuke asked softly, "Yamashita-kun, is it...is it wrong...to love someone?"
Surprised, Yamashita just blinked. When he realized Taisuke was still waiting for an answer though, he quickly shook his head. "No." He tightened his hold on the other before replying more firmly. "No. It's never wrong to love someone."
Taisuke lowered his eyes. "Even...even if...that person is...is...a guy?"
Yamashita felt his heart stop for a second. He looked down at Taisuke, and suddenly, he realized and understood what was wrong. Blinking his eyes rapidly to stop his own tears, he wrapped a hand behind Taisuke's head and pressed it against his chest. "Fuji...Taisuke..." He stroked Taisuke's hair softly. "It is never wrong to love, no matter whom it is you may love. It is never wrong."
Rubbing his cheek against Yamashita’s chest, Taisuke mumbled, "But it hurts...it hurts so much, so much...wh-when...when they ki-kissed..."
Yamashita didn't know what to say. He didn't want to lie to Taisuke because he could only imagine how hard it is for the younger one. Saying pretty things won't be able to help him at all. He didn't what to tell Taisuke what he knew either. After all, he didn't know how the other would react to that. So he just kept his arm around the other as he stroked Taisuke's hair softly, murmuring his name.
When he noticed Taisuke's sobs and tears have slowly died down, he glanced down at him. Pressing a kiss on Taisuke's forehead, he asked, "Are you alright?"
It took a while, but Taisuke finally pulled back and nodded his head slowly. "Go-gomen nasai...for...making you worried..." He looked down. "I...I must have surprised you..."
Smiling softly, Yamashita ruffled Taisuke's hair. "You don't have to say sorry, Fujigaya-kun," he said, reverting back to Taisuke's last name. He wrapped his arms back around Taisuke for a few seconds before pulling back. "Let's get you back home."
Just when he was about to restart the car, Taisuke reached out and grabbed Yamashita's sleeve. "Hm? What is it?"
Taisuke looked up and then down again before whispering, "Ya-Yamashita-kun...c-call...call me...Taisuke..."
Yamashita laughed softly. "Okay. Then call me Yamapi, Taisuke."
A light shade of red covered Taisuke's cheeks. "E-eh?"
"Well, if I call you Taisuke, why shouldn't you call me Yamapi?" Yamashita smiled at the other and started the car. "Okay, I'm really taking you home this time."
When Yamashita pulled over in front of his house, Taisuke couldn't stop fidgeting in his seat. They hadn't talked about what had happened earlier on, but Taisuke couldn't stop feeling slightly awkward. He was feeling a bit anxious and he kept wondering if Yamashita was going to bring the subject up.
Just as Yamashita was saying good-bye, Taisuke finally spoke up. "Ya-Yamashita-kun!"
"Hm? What is it?" Yamashita turned to look at Taisuke.
Taisuke shifted his eyes and squirmed in his seat. "A-ano...you're...not going to ask me?"
"Ask you what?"
"M-me. Who...I like...and wh-what happened last night." Taisuke stared at his fingers that were twisting together on his lap.
Yamashita chuckled. "Why should I ask you? If you don't want to tell me, then don't. I don't plan to be nosy and force answers out of you." He bent down slightly to look up at Taisuke's face. "You don't have to tell me anything, but just remember I'm here when you need someone." He petted Taisuke on the head and leaned closer to press a kiss on his forehead. "Go home and get some more rest, Taisuke."
Blushing, Taisuke nodded. "H-hai." He opened the door and was about to step out when he added, "A-arigatou...Yamapi."
"No problem," replied Yamashita with a smile. Once Taisuke stepped out and closed the door, they waved good-bye to each other and Yamashita drove away.
Once Yamashita's car disappeared from his view, Taisuke sighed and turned around to enter his house. Opening the door, he called out, "Tadaima," as he kicked off his shoes and wore his slippers. He only managed to take a few steps when his mother suddenly appeared in front of him.
"Taisuke! You got me and your father worried!" She quickly wiped her hands on her apron and pressed them against Taisuke's face. "When Tanaka-kun called, I was so surprised! You don't have a fever or anything, right?" She moved her hand over Taisuke's forehead.
Taisuke gave a small smile. "I'm fine, Okaasan. I was just tired, not sick."
His mother still didn't stop letting her hands wander over his face. "Mou...you child. You should have told me when you weren't sleeping well lately. I wouldn't have kicked you off the bed on those days you could have slept in."
Chuckling lightly, Taisuke said, "Okaasan, I'm not a child anymore."
Her hands slid down to grip Taisuke's shoulders. "You'll always be my child no matter when." Pinching his cheek lightly, she said, "Now, you go get some rest! I don't want to see you for the next few hours."
"Hai hai." A small smile still on his face, Taisuke headed upstairs to his own room. Once he was inside though, the smile faded and he just sighed. Not bothering to change his clothes, he flopped on to his bed and started up the ceiling. The tears weren't falling anymore, but the ache was still there.
He wasn't sure how long he laid there. One thing was for sure though. He didn't sleep a wink. Suddenly, he heard the doorbell ring. Shifting, he just turned his head and looked at his door.
"Taisuke! Are you awake?"
Sitting up, Taisuke blinked for a few seconds before reacting. He slipped off his bed and opened his door, sticking his head out. "Hai?"
"Can you open the door? I'm a bit busy in the kitchen."
"Okay!" With that, he started to hurry down the stairs, not wanting whoever was at the door to wait too long. When he got closer to the door, he called out, "Coming!" He wondered who was at the door. It can't be his brothers since school hasn't ended yet and they had their own keys anyways.
Just when he was about to open the door, a thought crossed Taisuke's mind. Could it be...?
Opening the door, he said, "Wata..." He stopped when he saw who it was in front of him.
"Hi-Hiro..."
