Still no word from the bank on whether they accepted our bid or not. Started looking beyond Fairborn and Huber Heights for homes in our price range. Found 2 in New Carlisle and 1 just north of Clifton worth looking at. The one near Clifton is a longer drive, but it's 2 acres with a pond, and that's kind of cool. Nothing new on the house. Got bored with Emma's Victorian Romance. Dusted off an old project and have done little else for 2 days now. 2 pages nearing done, but will not be posted for a while yet. It is in full color, so far the pages have taken maybe 8 hours each. My eyes are telling me to get off the computer now, so that's it.

It's been about a month since we bid on the house. The seller agreed, but because it is (probably) a short sale we are waiting on approval from the seller's bank. They are taking their time but we feel they will eventually say yes ( Read more... )

Yaoi and shonen-ai is really whacked out stuff. But good, some of it....

Did a second walkthrough of the house on Xenia Dr today. Looked closer at the plumbing and electrical systems, counted outlets, inspected appliances, looked for water damage, etc. It needs work but nothing raised red flags. We like the place and the neighborhood, so we went ahead and put a bid in.

Went through two more houses today. Both are within a few blocks of where we live in Fairborn. They are 1.5 story brick homes with basements, built in the 40's, and look very similar. The one on Maple is larger and has a second bathroom.

This past Saturday was Patrick's birthday. On Friday, Patrick and I drove to see my dad in Kentucky. He and his wife have a house by the lake. They have two dogs and two hyperactive foster kids, but seem fairly happy. Their motorboat wasn't working too well, so we couldn't drag each other around the lake on a tube. Patrick likes the one on Marchmont better. He says we can "Make it our own." He has a point. The one on Parkwood is nicely made up and clean, that's why it gives such a good impression. But really it is too small.
