Work has been of the suck. Even nights I've not been on call this week, I've been here late. I saw one batch of trick-or-treaters Wednesday night. Missed the rest completely because the guy who should have been doing add-ons to the schedule was tied up for five hours earlier in the day when the surgeon he was working with bagged the spleen. After lots of lovely rain Tuesday and Wednesday, today is gorgeous. Temps are still 'unseasonably warm', as they say, as evidenced by the fact that my houseplants are still outside, which is absolutely unheard of for this time of year. Stephanie Plum: bought 3,4, and 5 and 6, 7, and 8 today, handily packaged in groups of three. No cheaper but I was impressed by the ingenuity. I needed 3,4,5,6,7,8 and they had 3,4,5 or 4,5,6 or 6,7,8 or 7,8,9 and so on. That way, no matter where you'd left off, they most likely had pre-packaged the next three for you. OB call yesterday, which really means I spend 24 hours in the hospital. I did nothing until 8PM, at which point it all went to hell. I got to watch the first 15 minutes of Drive but that was it. Aside from the fact that I had to get up at 5:30 and go in for an appendectomy, it was a lovely day. Four nice cases with a surgeon I've known since I started there. I got to introduce #1Son to him which was cool because D's been hearing stories about him for 17 years now.
