it's so weird.
two big media events, both involving explosions, on opposite ends of the country, in one week. I live between them, no where near either, so the last thing I expected to hear was that out of the several hundred wounded, 19 people (total between the two events) died, and one of them.. was someone I used to know, from here ( Read more... ) -

so the other thing this co-op does
is presentations. each kid has to give a short talk on a given topic each time we meet (except, well, divided up by first letter of last name, 1/3 of the students get each week off. we we're on 2 weeks, off one ( Read more... ) -

ah, my 10 year LJ anniversary was this week, and I forgot all about it.. may 22, I believe. wow. -
frustrated and kind of angry.
the leader of Germaine's girls club is into theater. she majored in it in college then got married and became a Catholic homeschool mom so she used the club as an outlet. last year (Germaine's first year in the club) they did a play, feature length, hired in men to play the men (dads of girls club girls) etc to make it a high quality performance ( Read more... ) -

gave up wheat and dairy (with the exception of yogurt) for lent. just putting that out there, in case I feel like posting later about recipes or what not. or just venting, lol. eating out is easier than I thought it would be. salad, hold the cheese and croutons. make sure the dressing is oil-and-vinegar based. chicken? yes, please ( Read more... ) -

Esther's a good baby. I mean, really, really good baby. couldn't ask for a better baby. and this isn't biased mom gushing. this is objective reality. she sleeps well, she almost never cries. this evening I put her down asleep thinking she was out for the night and when she woke up she just... talked. blah? blah! blah. oh, and we got her a bumbo ( Read more... ) -
