in a fit of insanity this weekend, i decided to wake up at 4:30 am saturday and go surfing down in rhode island with a friend. why the horrible hour? because i was flying at 11 and it's a 1.5h drive. unfortunately, the friend's carpool never showed; eventually he drove himself down but didn't arrive till about 8, leaving me with 1h surf time.
