i think it's the apocalypse
or at least flood 2.0 (though i have a feeling that was a few years ago?). damn you july, i was hoping you'd be less sucktacular than june, but no: the month starts off with a spectacular thunderstorm right over my office. argh. the deluge began as i left the house and hurried to my car, then lessened during the drive in, only to pick back up right as i turned into the parking lot. sadly i am wearing heels and nice pants, so sprinting to the door wasn't an option. i'm thankful for long raincoats, but really really wish i had bought those cutesy trendy rainboots that were all the rage in SF last year. bah.
on the plus side, i don't feel so bad about bailing on the climbing trip tomorrow, as i am guessing EVERYTHING will be soggy to the maxx. not the biggest fan of damp ground, especially when combined with the forecast 80 degree temps. can we say mosquitoes? i'd rather not, actually.
instead, i think i have conned the boy into accompanying me to the rock gym (and if not, as i am going tonight, and he seems to be coming too), i'm pretty sure i can convince one of my friends (or more?) to come along as well. i'm also going to go cake tasting, and i am pretty psyched about that. and then, FINALLY, i have plans to cut my hair. for real.
i also scheduled my IFR checkride, so now i have to study my ass off. i have a ridiculous number of flights scheduled as well, so i will likely be rather out of commission for anything till that's done. you have been warned.
