Well DD went back to school this morning and in spite of the hissing rain went off with a fat grin and a bounce in her step. She cannot wait to see her BFF. ... I just hope her BFF is kind to her today. I could do without the emotional fallout of a rift for another week at least. And i know. That is why I cannot really say back to him 'your my best fend too!' Even in such trivial matters I find a strong impulse not to lie to my children.

It's persisting down here, too. First day of term ought to be sunny.

Poor BB - being too little for things must be very frustrating - and then, just as you get big enough to do some things, you find that you are too big to be allowed to do other things that you like...

They do! Although interestingly BB is not obsessed with being 'big'. In fact whenever I tell him how much he has grown he gets very emphatic about being a 'little boy!' 'I small!'

1) School starts next Monday for the Girl-O (Grade 1!), because of some weird teacher PD and contract thingy.

2) Sinus rinse does work (shudder).

3) Good luck with the house! Any early pix?

I should not read comments first thing in the morning ... although Girl-O's school did look quite interesting when I thought the teacher had some 'PID and contact thingy'

First day at school? Wow! Even though DD had been to Montessori and I was used to being without her for a large chunk of the day I still had maternal wibbles over the going to school transition. I sternly made Mr Wol take the day off as moral support. O(f course DD was fine! and i did not make a total spectacle of myself but once she went through that door I lost a huge amount of knowledge of what she does during her day: that old cliche 'What did you do at school today?' 'Nothin'' is not far from the truth.
