Disclaimer: We do not own the boys. Alas. :( But boy, if we did... No money is made.
Author's Notes: One of our annual Halloween fics. We had so much fun writing this alternate universe and hope you enjoy it, too.
Story 1 Story 2 and 3 Story 4 and 5 Story 6 Story 7 and 8 "Are you in costume yet?" Jared called from the living room of their apartment. "You know we're already late for our dinner reservations."
"Yeah, just need a minute more," Jensen called back from the bedroom. He opened the closet and found his old, ratty sneakers. Reaching inside, Jensen pulled out the jeweler's box and stared at the ring inside. He knew it was right, knew he wanted to ask Jared that night, but still his stomach fluttered with nerves. Removing the ring from the box, Jensen slid it into a soft bag and then into the pocket of his pants.
Jared adjusted the baggy pants of his old time ballplayer's uniform and rolled his eyes a little. "You're getting more and more vain in your old age!"
Jensen grinned, knowing it wasn't the reason, but more than happy to let Jared think it. Grabbing the helmet to his old-fashioned football uniform, Jensen looked in the mirror one last time, patted his pants pocket and then went to meet Jared in their living room. "Okay, I'm ready."
Jared wolf-whistled as Jensen entered the room and did a circle of his boyfriend, admiring him from every angle. "You fit into that very well," he said with an overdone leer.
Rolling his eyes, Jensen shoved Jared lightly before pulling him back into a kiss. "Glad to know you approve." He looked over Jared's outfit with a grin. "You look good too."
"These socks are ridiculous," Jared said, "but I love the hat. And this cool glove." He put his hand into the leather. "No idea how you caught anything with it, but it's cool."
"Yeah, well, it's not like the bats were the same...or even the balls, right? All of the parts changed with each other." Jensen reached out and stroked his hand down Jared's back. "Let's get going, don't want to miss our dinner."
Jared caught Jensen around the waist and tugged him in for a kiss. "Happy third anniversary," he said. "Or should we add on the first time around, too?"
Jensen laughed, wrapping his arms around Jared's shoulders. "I think we should stick to this time around, since it's going so much better and all."
Jared nodded agreement and pinched Jensen's ass with a leer. "Very, very well, indeed."
Batting at Jared's hands, Jensen dances slightly out of reach. "In the car, now..." he teased, guiding Jared toward the front door with a shake of his head. The last thing he needed was Jared finding the ring before dessert.
"Spoilsport," Jared said. He trotted out the door of their rented house, as always feeling a moment's burst of happiness at how things had turned out between them. The shared home was a symbol of their commitment, and he was already hoping they could buy it from the owner.
"You know it," Jensen teased, locking the door behind them and heading out to his car. He'd already told Jared he'd drive, knowing he'd need something to concentrate on so that he didn't just blurt out his proposal before they even made it to dinner.
Jared bounced a little in the front seat, excited and eager. "Can't believe you won't even tell me where our dinner reservations are. You're making me all goofy."
Jensen grinned. "Yeah, well...I get to do that when I make plans before you," he teased, reaching out and resting his hand on Jared's thigh. "Besides, you know I'd only take you somewhere you love."
"It's food, what don't I love?" Jared asked. "Maybe that Irish-Indian infusion place... that was just weird." He stuck out his tongue.
"Yeah, but I know what you love the best," Jensen teased, stroking lightly up and down Jared's leg. He took them onto the highway, heading them toward the edge of town and knew that Jared would clue in pretty fast once they got beyond the last exit within town. Their favorite restaurant, an upscale steak house, was just at the edge of town.
Jared perked up and said, "I'm having one of their prime rib specials. With the baked potato and special mac 'n cheese."
Jensen laughed. "Well, wait to see what they have, okay? There's a special menu on for tonight."
"A special Halloween menu," Jared said. "But the mac 'n cheese is a must. That's an orgasm in cheesy pasta form."
"Well, we'll see if it's on there, won't we?" Jensen teased, though he knew it was because he'd asked the restaurant ahead of time. "And then on to my sister's place for the Halloween party."
Jared blew a noisy raspberry. "If they don't have their mac 'n cheese, we're leaving, reservations or not. Nobody messes with my stomach and heart that way!"
Jensen simply laughed at Jared and pinched him lightly before taking their exit and heading toward the restaurant. He pulled up and parked, smiling at Jared and pulling him in for a kiss before they got out of the car to head into dinner.
Jared grumbled in loss when Jensen pulled away from the kiss, but scrambled out of the car after him. He patted his back pocket once, nodded and caught up to Jensen to grab his hand. "This is a perfect pick."
"I hoped you might like it," Jensen said, twining their fingers together with a smile. They climbed the stairs and Jensen winked at Jared before he opened the door and held it. "After you," he whispered.
Jared bowed and stepped inside. "Why thank you, Sir. You are most kind."
Jensen eyed Jared's ass in his costume and waggled his eyebrows at his boyfriend when he moved up along side him. "Anything to get a good look at your ass," he murmured before turning his smile on the hostess. "Reservation for Ackles."
"Your ass is nicer," Jared said, "but if you want to see mine, I'll give you a closer view tonight without the pants." He winked at the hostess.
Blushing, Jensen nudged Jared's side. He'd at least been quiet enough not to have been overheard. "See if I want to if you keep that up," he teased.
Jared just snickered and took Jensen's hand again to follow the hostess to their secluded back booth. "Ooh, we can make out here with nobody to see," he said. "Did you plan it that way?"
"Yeah, I asked for a quiet spot," Jensen admitted, pushing Jared into the booth and then scooting in next to him to squish him hard against the wall with a grin.
"Oof," Jared mock complained and playfully swatted Jensen. He picked up his menu and scanned the Halloween menu, smile growing on his face. "Want to do the Halloween dinner for two? T-bone steaks, mashed potatoes, mac 'n cheese, grilled vegetables, tureen of vegetable soup and a huge chocolate fudge brownie sundae."
Jensen nodded. "Yeah, I do," he said, scooting back over a bit to give Jared some space. "And I'm really glad that you want to do that too, because I called ahead and pre-ordered it for us." He reached out and took one of Jared's hands in his own.
Both of Jared's eyebrows went up into his hairline. "Well, somebody is mister self-assured tonight. Do you have our bedroom activities all pre-planned, too?"
Jensen chuckled. "No, those are always a dual effort." He took Jared's hand. "You don't really mind, do you?"
"No, Jen," Jared assured and squeezed his hand. "You've really put an effort into tonight." He cupped Jensen's face and kissed him.
"It's our third anniversary and we didn't make it this far before," Jensen said with a shy smile. He tilted his face into Jared's hand.
"It's a huge deal," Jared agreed. "I feel like we're rock steady. Like forever."
Jensen nodded, opened his mouth to say something and then snapped it closed with a smile for their waitress when she appeared. He'd just have to say what he wanted to say to Jared a bit later in the meal. "What do you want to drink?"
"Oh... beer? Wine? How about champagne?" Jared asked, face alight.
"Champagne," Jensen agreed immediately. It wasn't something they usually drank, but it'd go wonderfully with their night and was something they would remember.
Jared beamed and wiggled his eyebrows. "Hey big spender," he singsonged.
Jensen chuckled, stroking his fingers over Jared's hand. "Anything for you," he said with a wink.
"I know," Jared said and touched Jensen's face with his lips. "So good to me."
"Yeah, we are," Jared said. "Now. Took us awhile to get there, but it was worth it."
"I'm glad you think so...I do too," Jensen leaned into JAred's side. "Also think we appreciate it, treasure it more now."
"We're lucky. How many people get a real second chance like this?" Jared asked. "I have something for you..."
Jensen grinned, thinking of his own gift in his pocket. "You have something for me?" Jensen asked, turning to look more directly at Jared.
Jared fiddled a little and bit his bottom lip. "Wait. Let's wait."
"Aw," Jensen teased, tickling Jared. "Okay, I can wait."
Jared smacked Jensen's hand away. "Stop that or no present."
Jensen immediately took his hands back and tucked them together in his lap. "I can be good, if you really want me to."
Jared put his hands over Jensen's in his lap and leaned forward to kiss him. "So good, Jen."
"Hmmm, always good for you," Jensen agreed, tilting his head and sinking into the kiss.
A startled cough broke them apart, and Jared turned to grin at their blushing server. He grinned at the champagne and said, "We'll open it."
"Oh no, Sir, I couldn't possibly let you." The waitress showed them both the bottle and then proceeded to open it up, pour them both a flute each and then placed the bottle in the ice bucket her co-worker had brought out to the table.
"I tried," Jared said with a sad little smile and lifted the flute to Jensen. "To us."
Jensen was thoroughly confused as to why it mattered that Jared open the champagne, but he took his flute and tapped the edge to his boyfriend's glass. "To us," he echoed with a smile.
Jared swallowed a sip of the champagne and then set it on the table. He waited for Jensen to do the same, before cupping his face and kissing him again.
Holding onto Jared's shoulder, Jensen sank into the kiss while trying to set his glass down as well. His boyfriend was always demonstrative, but not usually this much at a restaurant. Of course, with their table mostly hidden from view, Jensen certainly wasn't complaining.
Jared tangled his fingers with Jensen's and helped him set the flute on the table. "Happy anniversary and Halloween, Jen."
"Happy anniversary and Halloween," Jensen responded, releasing his glass and wrapping both arms around Jared. "Three years and going strong this time."
Jared pressed a kiss to Jensen's forehead and then sighed. "Will you scoot out of the booth for a moment?"
Jensen nodded. "Of course," he said, scooting out and standing near the table. "Want me to sit across from you?"
Jared slid right out and ended up on one knee, looking up at Jensen. "It's been three years since we became a couple again, and six since you walked back into my life and became the best thing about it. I never want to lose you again, Jen, and so, I want to ask you... will you marry me?" He pulled a small box out of his uniform's back pocket and opened it to reveal a platinum band.
Gasping, Jensen blinked at Jared and then his eyes welled up with tears. "Yeah, Jay. Yes... I want to marry you." He chuckled through the emotion in his voice and reached into his pocket for the small velvet bag. Jensen shook it open and held the ring in his palm. "Was going to ask you to marry me tonight."
"Oh," Jared gasped, taking the ring from Jensen's palm and beaming at him through the mist in his own eyes. "Do it. I mean, ask me, too?"
Jensen took the ring back and then dropped to his knees in front of Jared, laughing inwardly at the sight they must make. "Jared, I love you so much and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together. Will you marry me?"
"Yes!" Jared yelled and tackled him to the floor in a huge hug. He buried his face in Jensen's neck and clung to him.
Wrapping his arms around Jared, Jensen resigned himself to lying on the restaurant floor for a few minutes. Not that he cared. Not when he had Jared in his arms, and they were going to get married.
Jared stayed still for a moment and then pulled back, tugging Jensen up with him. He found his ringbox and took out the band. "Third finger, left hand, please."
Jensen sat up and put out his hand, watching it shake while Jared held the ring in his hand.
Jared clasped the trembling hand with an unsteady one of his own and smiled at Jensen. "I love you, Jensen Ackles," he said, while sliding the ring on his finger.
Letting out a shaky breath, Jensen curled his hand around Jared's, securing the ring on his finger. He took the ring he'd bought for Jared and smiled. "Your hand now," he said.
Jared nodded and held out his own hand, trying to keep it steady. "Gladly."
"I love you, Jared Tristan Padalecki," Jensen said, sliding the ring on part way. "Now and forever."
"I'm gonna start blubbering in a minute here," Jared said, lower lip wobbling. He leaned in to kiss Jensen again.
Jensen pulled Jared into a deeper kiss, holding him close and stroking his back. He had everything in the world he ever wanted right in his arms and ready to marry him.
There was another little gasp and then coughing behind them, and Jared giggled a little helplessly into the kiss. He pulled away from Jensen's mouth and turned to look at their blushing waitress. "Can't two dudes even propose on peace?"
Laughing, Jensen batted Jared's shoulders and then stood up. He smiled at the waitress. "Sorry... we got a bit carried away," Jensen said, taking Jared's hand and pulling him to his feet. "We're getting married."
Jared tugged Jensen into a hug and said, "All mine now. Nobody else can even look anymore."
"You silly goof," Jensen said, closing his eyes and hugging Jared tight. He pulled back and then nudged Jared back into the booth before sliding in beside him.
Jared scooted back over to the wall and threw his arm over Jensen's shoulders. "Now we'll be explaining this all night," he said happily. "No way everybody's not gonna notice the hardware."
Jensen grinned and settled into Jared's side. "No, they will all notice, but I don't think I'll mind telling everyone you agreed to marry me."
"And our families," Jared said happily, not even noticing the salads the waitress placed in front of them. "God, mama will cry."
"Both the mamas with cry over this one, I think," Jensen said, reaching out to play with Jared's fingers.
"And then want to plan everything," Jared said with a laugh. He caressed Jensen's cheek and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"I could be talked into letting them plan some of it." Jensen leaned into Jared and sighed happily.
Jared pressed a kiss to Jensen's forehead. "Want to go somewhere else to make it official or do something unofficial here?"
Jensen nodded his head as soon as Jared stared speaking. "I want it official. Whever it can be official."
"Good. So do I," Jared said. "There aren't a lot of places where it's legal, but we'll go wherever we have to." He nuzzled Jensen's head. "I don't think I've ever been this happy."
"Me either," Jensen said. "I can't believe we both had the same idea tonight."
"Well, our anniversary and Halloween," Jared said. "And we both know this time we've got it right. No question we've been happy."
Jensen laughed, nodding in agreement. "You couldn't be more right about that, Jay."
"Means we're ready," Jared said. "Together."
"Yes, now...we should eat our salad or they'll be bringing the appetizers before we've even started." Jensen tangled their fingers together and reached for his champagne.
"Yeah, cause I care," Jared said with a nip to Jensen's ear. "You're all the sustenance I need."
Jensen snorted. "You won't be saying that later tonight when you're starving," he said, pushing Jared back slightly and nudging him to eat.
"All right," Jared said with a little pout. "I just don't want to stop touching you." He ate some salad, eyes still on Jensen.
"You don't have to," Jensen said, squeezing their tangled fingers. "But you do have to eat."
"I know," Jared said. "I feel light headed and light hearted and like I can barely focus on anything but you. How should I be able to eat?"
Jensen smiled shyly, taken aback slightly at Jared's admission though he felt similarly. "I...don't know because I can hardly focus either." He leaned in and kissed Jared. "Should we maybe ask them to just pack it up to go?"
"But we have our friend's party, too," Jared said, resting his forehead on Jensen's.
"We can bring the food him and then go see our parents to give them the news before we go to the party," Jensen offered, feeling as antsy as Jared was about the food now.
Jared laughed and scooped Jensen into a kiss. "Yes."
"Okay, we'll do it then, so we'll have the food for late tonight," Jensen said against Jared's lips, clinging to him.
"After I satiate my hunger for you," Jared purred, trailing kisses down Jensen's jaw and biting at his neck.
Jensen chuckled, head tipped back and eyes closed. "After we see everyone else tonight."
"Blargh," Jared said from his position near Jensen's pulse. "We'll be fast. Let them congratulate us and then run home."
"Anything for you," Jensen said, leaning into Jared's head and then smiling at the waitress when she approached.
"Excellent," Jared said and sat up. "We want everything wrapped up to go, please," he told the waitress with a huge smile.
Jensen smiled sheepishly. "We just can't keep our news to ourselves, but we don't want to miss out on the dinner either."
Jared winked at the waitress, who just gushed a little giggle at them and nodded. He glanced back at Jensen as she left with their salad and appetizers to wrap up. "Seriously, I hope everyone is that happy for us."
"They will be," Jensen said. "They better be or they are not truly our friends and family."
Jared bapped Jensen lightly on the head. "No being so serious."
Jensen grinned, tugging Jared in for a kiss. "Sorry, just can't help it."
Jared sucked on Jensen's tongue and lower lip. "Have to kiss it out of you."
"I have no doubt that you can and will," Jensen said once he pulled back from the kiss to suck in a deep breath.
"Mmhmmm. May have to do a little deep tongue work, too," Jared said, mouth twitching.
Jensen chuckled, shaking his head and then cupping Jared's face in his hands. "I love you."
Jared's smile could have blinded, and all of it was for Jensen. "What do we want to do... about names, I mean?"
"Let's cross that bridge when we get closer to the time, okay?" Jensen matched Jared's blinding smile with his own.
Jared rubbed their noses together and nipped at Jensen's lower lip. "I want to start planning now. So much to decide. And I'm so excited."
Jensen moaned softly. "Yeah, there's a lot to decide. But, first we have to tell all our friends and family."
Jared bounced a little in his seat and said, "That will be fun." He looked up as their wrapped food and the check arrived. He grabbed for it and pulled out his wallet. "Shall we call your mom first?"
Jensen shook his head at Jared, but didn't make an issue of him getting the bill. "Yeah, we should, she can spread the news in my family while we call your mother."
Jensen shook his head at Jared, but didn't make an issue of him getting the bill. "Yeah, we should, she can spread the news in my family while we call your mother."
"Let's go home then," Jared said and slid out of the booth, taking Jensen with him. He linked their hands and tugged Jensen out of the restaurant, carrying the food with his free hand.
"You want to drive while I call Mom?" Jensen asked, ingers tangled with Jared's.
"Yes, Put her on speaker," Jared said and basically ran them to the car.
Jensen laughed, keeping up with Jared and fumbling in his pocket for his cell phone. He thumbed off the screen lock and hit the speed dial for his parents' home.
Jared pulled Jensen into a quick kiss and then slipped into the car, starting the engine. "Homeward bound,: he sung off key.
Still laughing, Jensen heard his mother answer the phone. "Hey Mama, Jay and I are both here on the speaker phone."
"Hi, Mama Ackles," Jared called, as he headed them for home as swiftly as possible.
"We have some news mama," Jensen said, grinning widely at Jared. "we cut our dinner short because Jay proposed to me tonight."
"Oh, baby," Donna said and then the muffled sound of a few sobs could he heard over the phone. "Baby, I'm so glad."
"I'll do my best to make him happy, Mama Ackles," Jared said.
"I have no doubt you will, Jared," Donna said with a happy little sigh. "Just wait until I tell your siblings."
Jensen chuckled, tearing up slightly at the sound of his mother's tears. "He beat me to it, Mama, but we're both so happy."
"You were going to ask him, too?" Donna asked, sniffling. "I'm so proud of you both."
"I was and thank you, Mama. I'm gonna let Jay call his mother, but we'll be over like planned." JEnsen amiled at Jared and reached out to rest his hand on Jared's knee.
"Now wait just a minute, Jensen Ross Ackles, there's a few things I want to hear. You're planning a full wedding, right? I want you to have everything."
Jensen laughed. "Yes, Mama. we're going to do this somewhere it's legal and we're going to do it all." He squeezed Jared's thigh. "We're going to do it right."
Donna sighed happily and smiled as she heard Jared and her baby laughing together, sounding like love and home together. "Oh baby, you've made me the happiest woman on the planet."
"I thought Josh and Mack already did that," Jensen teased his mother, knowing exactly what she meant.
"You hush now," Donna said. "Jared, you smack that boy once for me."
Jared reached out and whacked the back of Jensen's head lightly. "Sorry, Mama Ackles' orders, Jen."
"Jay!" Jensen cried out in mock shock. He pinched Jared's inner thigh and then rubbed lightly over the spot.
Jared yelped slightly and pouted at Jensen. "You're going to make me break off the engagement, Mama Ackles," he said.
"If you think Sherri or I would allow that, you are sorely mistaken boys," Donna teased.
"Oh, so now we're doomed to be together no matter what," Jared said with a little sigh.
Jensen laughed. "Sounds like we are, Jay. Good thing we'd have it no other way!"
"Glad to hear it," Donna said. "Sherri and I will make sure you have the best wedding two gay boys ever had."
"And I know you two would have it no other way. I love you, Mama. We'll be by in a bit." Jensen waited until she said goodbye before hanging up the call and then hitting Sherri Padalecki's speed dial and waiting for her to pick up so Jared could give her the news.
The instant Sherri Padalecki answered, Jared's voice choked up, and he could barely gulp out, "Mama, he said yes."
"Oh baby," Sherri said, her voice also choking up. She'd known, believed that Jensen would say yes, but to hear Jared say it made her the happiest woman.
"Hi Momma Sherri," Jensen said, his own voice full of emotion. "What he's too emotional to tell you is that I proposed to him too. We both had rings tonight."
Sherri made a little hiccuping noise, a combination laugh and sob, and said, "I always knew you'd be good for my boy. I never imagined how much. I'm so happy for you both."
Jared echoed the noise, a shared trait, and said, "He got down on his knee, mama, just like a good Texas boy."
Jensen chuckled. "I wasn't so sure you'd think that awhile back, Momma, but as I promised Jay, I'll try my best to make him happy every day forever."
Sherri chuckled and said, "I know you will. Now, you two need to come on down here and talk to me about the wedding."
Jared groaned a little and said, "Mama, not now."
"Mama said she'd be in touch, Momma Padalecki. She's already got idea, I think," Jensen said, chuckling. "We just got off the phone with her and she's as raring to go as you are."
Sherri clapped her hands together and said, "We will plan the best wedding our two boys can possibly have. But don't think you're off the hook, boys."
Jared laughed and said, "We want to be involved, too. But tonight, we want to go tell all our friends and just enjoy being engaged."
Jensen pinched Jared lightly. "And of course we're going to stop by and see you Momma Sherri," he said, stroking Jared's leg.
"Well, I hope so," Sherri said. "You have to let us hug and congratulate you in person."
"And cry all over us, too," Jared said. "Cause you know you're gonna bawl, mama."
"Like you won't," Sherri said with a little huff.
"We both already have," Jensen agreed. He smiled fondly at Jared. "Neither of us can help it. I think we made a bit of a scene in the restaurant. It's a good thing we were mostly out of sight."
"I kinda tackled him to the floor after he asked me," Jared confessed, "and just held him there for awhile."
"Oh Jay," Sherri said with a sigh. "In public? I know you don't get that from me."
Jensen laughed. "Yeah, he kinda surprised our waitress," Jensen said. "But, it was a good thing. I wouldn't have him any other way."
"I fit with your shy demeanor perfectly," Jared said happily. "He was practically a tomato."
"I don't think there was a practically about it...I was red as red can be," Jensen laughed, stroking Jared's leg lightly. "Will you be home in a few hours?"
"I will, Jensen. You and Jared shall call?" Sherri asked, sighing inwardly at the idea of the two proposing to each other. "I'll have Gerald here, so you can tell him, too. I want it to be a surprise for him."
Jensen grinned. "Of course we will. We'll call in a bit and come by tonight."
Jared raised his eyebrows at Jensen and mouthed, "We will?"
Sherri sounded satisfied over the phone, "Good. We'll be expecting you. I'll have some of my Halloween cake waiting."
"Oh awesome!" Jared said. "We'll be there!"
Laughing at his fiance's reaction, Jensen said goodbye to Sherri and hung up the phone. "Yes, we are going to stop at both the family homes and go see our friends."
"We're not going to get home to privately celebrate til like six in the morning," Jared said with a groan.
"Nope," Jensen smiled and rubbed his hand along Jared's thigh. "We'll do that soon as we've seen our families and stopped in at Chad's."
Jared sighed and stuck out his lower lip. "What happened to this being our night?"
Jensen laughed. "Jay, we're not going to do anything we weren't already planning on doing."
Jared sighed and said, "Well, we don't usually go to the family homes, too."
"Well no, but we can't not go see them since we've told them," Jensen said, chuckling. "Our mom's would kill us."
"Well no, but we can't not go see them since we've told them," Jensen said, chuckling. "Our mom's would kill us."
"So true," Jared said. "At least we'll get to stuff our faces with my mom's cake... and maybe your mom will have more of those caramel apples."
Jensen grinned. "See, bright sides to everything and I can guarantee Mom has caramel apples."
"Sweet," Jared said. "Then I guess I'm okay with having to wait until I'm too tired to take you to bed."
"You're never too tired to take me to bed, Jay," Jensen teased, though they both knew that wasn't strictly the truth.
"Not as young as I used to be, Jen," Jared quipped. "Besides, after all the emotions we're about to expend, I doubt even a sex maniac could get it up."
Jensen chuckled. "Something tells me a bit of candy and maybe a nap is all you need."
Jared rumbled appreciatively at Jensen and licked his lips, dropping a hand on his upper thigh. "You do kinda make me run hot and bothered."
"I've always made you hot and bothered," Jensen teased. He stroked his hand closer to the inner thigh, trailing his fingers up and down the seam of Jared's trousers. "Of course, you've always made me hot and bothered too."
Jared glanced down at Jensen's hand and moved his own to tangle their fingers. "Since I knew what my dick was for," Jared admitted.
Jensen laughed. "I think you might not have actually liked me back then...back when I was a teen and not thinking right."
"I didn't like the way you treated me, but everybody knew you were hot, Jen," Jared said. "No getting away from that."
Blushing, Jensen shook his head. He looked out the window for a second. "I wish I could change so many things, but I guess none of that is important since we ended up here...right where we belong."
Jared squeezed Jensen's fingers gently. "We made it, Jen, through everything. And I couldn't love you more if I tried."
"Me either, Jay. Every day I feel like our love grows." Jensen brought Jared's fingers up to kiss them before releasing Jared's hand so he could pull them into their driveway.
"And that's why we're getting married," Jared said and pulled Jensen into a kiss as soon as he stopped the car safely.
Jensen sank into the kiss, melting under Jared's lips and wrapping himself around Jared as much as he could. "Yeah," he breathed. "It's why we're getting married."
"If you weren't in that awesome football uniform, I'd make you come in your pants like a teenager," Jared said.
"Maybe not until later tonight, then," Jensen said before kissing Jared again and then pulling back. "Let's get the food in the fridge and then head to your parents' house."
"Yes, dear," Jared said and grabbed the food, hopping out of the car. He skipped toward the front door, nearly bashing his head on the low beam of the porch.
Jensen shook his head and followed after Jared at a more sedate pace. His fiance's exuberance still shocked him sometimes. "You look good in that uniform, Jay. But, it doesn't show off your butt very well."
"Old school baggy pants," Jared said with a laugh, opening the door. "But I can give you a personal show later."
"I'll hold you to that," Jensen teased, grabbing Jared's ass in both hands while he hustled him through the door and into the front hallway.
Jared pressed back into the hands and then danced away with a laugh, carrying the food to the fridge. "Shall we wait to see if people notice the rings?"
Jensen chuckled. "Yeah, sure...do you think that Chad or Chris will notice?"
"Chris will notice. Chad will already be too drunk and hanging off his latest underage piece of ass," Jared said with a sigh and a roll of his eyes.
"Well, at least he's consistent," Jensen said, lounging in the doorway to the kitchen and watching Jared put away their leftovers.
Jared sighed and shut the frudge door, strolling over to Jensen and pulling him into a hug. "I wish he could find somebody as awesome of you for himself."
Jensen wrapped himself around Jared. "Well, he will when he finally stops looking for what he thinks is important and just lets himself find people interesting."
Jared nuzzled into Jensen's hair and inhaled deeply, the smell of comfort and home. "Guess I'm just a sap who wants this for everyone now."
"I love that you're a sap." Jensen took Jared's hand in his, raising them so they could both look at the rings. "It means something...to us, to people around us, that we are committed."
"Means we are totally insane to a lot of them," Jared said with a chuckle. "Remember how Steve and Chad reacted when we got back together?"
Jensen snorted, nodding. "It wasn't good...but, they came around eventually."
"My ears rang for weeks," Jared said with a wry smile. "And I thought you might never get your hearing back."
"Well, we did and they couldn't be happier for us now that they know we mean it." Jensen tugged Jared in for a slow, thorough kiss.
Jared held Jensen close, stroking his body through the jersey, pants and pads and rumbling under his breath. He parted their mouths just to find the sensitive spot of Jensen's neck and suck and nibble at it.
Jensen tipped his head back and to the side, moaning softly while Jared nuzzled him. He slid his arms around Jared, stroking, holding him close and wishing they did not have anywhere else to be - even if Halloween was their favorite holiday.
"Want to suck up a mark," Jared murmured against Jensen's neck and then switched to chewing on his earlobe.
"Go ahead," Jensen said, rocking into Jared's body and shivering. "This is one time I don't care if anyone sees it."
Jard latched on to his favorite spot on Jensen's neck and suckled up the biggest bruise he could manage with his admittedly large mouth. He held Jensen against the wall tightly, unwilling to let him move and spoil the mark.
Jensen shuddered, going instantly, blindingly hard where Jared pressed him into the wall. He moaned, rocked his hips and clung to Jared.
Jared sighed and licked over the mark with soft kitten swipes of his tongue. "Your hard as a rock, Jen."
"Fucking love when you do that, Jay," Jensen moaned, shuddering against Jared and rocking himself helplessly into Jared's hip.
Jared chuckled huskily and said, "I want to blow you. Just suck all the cum out of you."
Jensen dropped his head back against the kitchen wall, thudding loudly in the quiet of their home. "Oh fuck, Jay," he moaned.
"That's my Jen," Jared said with a wink and slid to hi knees. He rubbed his face against the bulge in Jensen's tight football pants and then worked open the hidden zipper to access his cock. "Make it short and dirty."
"So fucking good at that, Jay," Jensen reached down, hands delving into Jared's hair with a moan. He'd not planned that at all, but Jensen was never going to turn down a blowjob from Jared.
"No holding back," Jared said and gulped all of Jensen's cock in one go. He swallowed hard against the intrusion in his throat.
Jensen banged his head on the wall again, keening and doing his best to not tear Jared's hair out by the roots. "Oh fuck," Jensen moaned, hips pressing forward into Jared's throat.
Jared gagged slightly and then got himself under control. He loved blowing Jensen, giving him the freedom to fuck his mouth. His tongue danced wicked little jigs along the hard length, joined randomly by lightening strikes of teeth.
"So fucking good to me, Jay, god," Jensen moaned, rocking his hips in time with Jared's sucking. He wasn't going to last long, the shock of the mark and the way that Jared was devouring pushing Jensen to his limit.
Jared pulled off with a slick pop and held Jensen still, licking at the head of his cock for a moment. He slid all the way back down just as suddenly, swallowing some more.
Jensen banged his head back on the wall one last time while he shuddered and came suddenly from Jared's rapid change in technique. He tugged and stroked at Jared's hair, panting and cursing softly.
Jared swallowed everything from long practice and determination not to lose a drop. He released Jensen only when his cock lay soft and spent on his tongue. "Mmm, dinner."
Barking out a laugh, Jensen brought a trembling hand to Jared's mouth and swiped one finger across his lips. "You are incorrigible."
"For you, yes," Jared said, gently tucking Jensen's cock back in his boxers and zipping back up his pants. "Time to go."
"You are fucking amazing, Jay," Jensen said, pulling Jared up and into a heated kiss. He moaned when he had to pull away.
Jared beamed and said, "He likes me! He really likes me!" before dancing away. "Come on, baby, I want to show off our new status."
Jensen pushed himself off the wall and did his best to smooth out the costume a bit more. He shifted himself in the tight pants and then followed Jared while he danced his way down the hall to the front door.
Jared threw a grin over his shoulder at Jensen. "I'm bulging in front. Fortunately, these pants hide everything with their bagginess."
"Thank god or your mother might be scandalized," Jensen teased, not that he believe Sherri would be shocked by much.
"I don't think I'll stay hard that long. My dick'd fall off," Jared said with a frown.
Jensen tipped his head back on a laugh and hustled Jared right out the front door. "We certainly wouldn't want that."
"We sure as Hell wouldn't," Jared said, cupping his cock protectively. He flashed his brilliant smile again. "Race you to the car."
Jensen laughed and took off after Jared, trying to beat him back out to the car so they could tell everyone in their lives about the good news.

Jared walked with Jensen and Jordan, carrying Magdalena in her infant front pack. He glanced down at her, tucked up against his chest, asleep and then glanced back at Jensen. "How's the big man doing?"
"He's doing okay, I think," Jensen said, looking down at Jordan's head and bending to rub his hand on their son's back. "Hey buddy, you still want to keep going?"
Jordan beamed up at his father through his Garfield mask. "Trickertreat," he gabbled as one word. "Pwease, daddy."
"Okay, buddy, we'll keep going," Jensen said, rubbing his back again and then standing up. He took Jordan's hand in his again and nudged Jared to move onto the next house. "How's out little ladybug?" he asked.
"Zonked," Jared said with a fond smile. "I think she managed a block before she passed out." He touched the shock of fuzz on her head, marveling at just how much he loved someone so tiny. "She's your babygirl all right."
Jensen chuckled. "Good to know she can sleep anywhere. I'm glad we brought her even if our mom's were willing to watch her."
"She can't miss Halloween," Jared said, scandalized. "Besides, her brother's not going to last too much longer." He stopped at the foot of the pathway to another house, this one playing spooky music. "They still have a haunted house, just like when we were little."
Nodding, Jensen leaned down and squeezed Jordan's hand. "You know, this is where your Daddy and I met, Jordan. Are you going to be good going up to the house? I'll be right there with you."
Jordan stared at the scary house with wide eyes and wider mouth. He held out his hand for Jensen's. "Daddy."
"I'm right here, buddy," Jensen said, holding Jordan tight. "We'll go slow and I'll carry you if you want me too, okay?"
Jordan nodded emphatically and squeezed Jensen's hand. He bit his lower lip and looked up at him. "Daddy first."
"Okay, baby," Jensen took the first step forward and then a second before he felt Jordan move forward with him. He guided Jordan forward up the walk.
Jared watched his husband and son approach the door with a heart so full he thought he might burst. He wiped away stay moisture from his eyes as he remembered meeting the tall boy in the Batman costume so many years ago.
When they finally got to the door, Jensen guided Jordan in front of him and kept his hands on his son's shoulders. They climbed up the stairs and Jensen made certain to keep a hold on Jordan even while he rang the bell so Jordan could greet them.
"Trickerahhhhhh!" Jordan screeched as an ogre threw open the door with a howl. He practically launched himself into Jensen's arms.
Jensen chuckled, scooping Jordan into his arms and standing upright. He cupped his son's head and turned him to face the ogre. "Hey buddy, I've got you. Let's try again, okay?"
Jordan clung to his father and shook his head wildly.
"Okay, Jordan," Jensen stroked his back and smiled at the man in the doorway. "Trick or Treat?" he said with an arched eyebrow and a sheepish smile while he held out Jordan's candy pumpkin.
The man in the ogre suit chuckled and said, "Sorry for scaring the little one. Lots of extra candy for being brave and coming to the door." He dumped a handful of candy in the pumpkin.
Jensen laughed. "Thanks, man. We couldn't skip this place...it's where my husband and I first met when he wasn't much older than Jordan here." He gave the man a wave and then rubbed Jordan's back. "You were so brave, love."
Jordan stared at the ogre standing in the doorway the whole time he was carried down the walkway.
Jared watched Jensen approach with their son tucked in his arms and asked, "Somebody else a little afraid of the big spooky house?"
"Jordan was doing just fine until the big ogre jumped out and scared him." Jensen smiled at Jared and rubbed Jordan's back, loving the way his son curled into his body.
Jared peered into the hazel eyes that were so much like his own and said, "Did the big bad ogre scare you, buddy? Daddy was scaed here when he was little, too." He pressed a kiss to Jordan's forehead and then moved up to kiss his husband.
"Trickertreat," Jordan cried from between his fathers.
Jensen pulled back from the kiss with a chuckle. "You sure like that, don't you, buddy?" Jensen asked kissing the side of Jordan's head. "You ready for the next house?"
Jordan nodded and said, "Down." He blinked a few times and then added, "Pwease."
"Of course, baby," Jensen said, bending to put his son on the ground and straighten his costume. He took Jordan's hand and then smiled up at Jared while they walked to the next house on the block.
Jared took Jensen's free hand and walked with him, his contentment with the moment and indeed, his entire life, so strong he felt heady with the emotion. "I'm so happy," he burst out.
Jensen chuckled. "Good to know," he said, squeezing Jared's fingers. "I am too, Jay. Our family is the one I've always wanted."
"We're parents," Jared said, struck as he always was with the amazement of it all. "Us. Together. The two little kids who met on Halloween."
"Who now have two little kids of their own," Jensen added. He completely understood the amazement of it all because Jensen regularly found himself watching Jared play with Jordan or cuddle Maggie and just marvel at their lives.
"We're crazy," Jared said with a beaming smile. "And I wouldn't have us any other way."
Jensen laughed again. "Good because neither would I."
"Daddy crazy," Jordan parroted back, making Jensen laugh in delight and ruffle his hair.
"Both of your daddies are crazy, Jordan." Jensen squeezed Jared's hand.
"In the best possible way," Jared said with a grin as they arrived at the next house, this one decorated in a less frightening fashion. "Trick or treat time, buddy."
"Trickertreat!" Jordan yelled again and tugged Jensen toward the door.
Shaking his head, Jensen trailed along with Jordan to the door. He helped his son climb the steps and rang the bell, waiting for him to have his chance at getting candy on his own again.
Jordan beamed as a eldery lady opened the door and said, "Trick er treat, pwease," in his best voice.
"Oh, aren't you a darling?" she cooed at him and dropped a handful of candy in his pumpkin. "Jensen Ackles, you are raising a fine boy here. Do say hello to Jared for me."
"Of course, Mrs Ackerman. And thank you, Jordan is a wonderful little boy," Jensen said and then turned and called to Jared over his shoulder. "Would you like to meet our daughter?"
"Oh my, yes," Mrs. Ackerman said happily. "Why I remember when you two were knee high to grasshoppers. How can you have children of your own?" She shook her head and smiled as Jared approached.
"Hello, Mrs. Ackerman," Jared said, one hand resting on the front of the infant carrier.
Jensen smiled at Jared and reached out to run his finger finger down Maggie's cheek. "Mrs Ackerman, please meet little Magdalena Ackles-Padalecki."
Mrs. Ackerman cooed at the infant, who opened green eyes and blinked sleepily at her. She raised a tiny fist and rubbed at her face, before yawning and snuggling up to her father again.
"She's not much for conversation yet," Jared said with a little wink.
Chuckling, Mrs Ackerman nodded and smiled wistfully. "You two have such beautiful children. Thank you for bringing them by.
"Of course," Jared said. "You come over for lunch next Sunday. And bring some of your cookies."
Jensen grinned, loving Mrs Ackerman's cookies and knowing she would enjoy the children. "Thank you, again, Mrs Ackerman, but I wouldn't want to keep these other kids from having fun tonight." He gestured to the small group down the walk waiting for her to close the door so they could have the fun of calling out 'trick or treat'.
"Thank you both for your kindness to an old lady," Mrs. Ackerman said. "Happy Halloween."
They waved and then Jared took Jensen's hand and led him down the path, carefully avoiding the new group of children. But Jordan strayed toward them and ran right into a taller, older boy of about six, dressed as Robin. He watched with a slight grin as the boys exchanged startled yelps and then stared at each other's costumes, both with delight. "Here we go again.”
