Its been a year since I was hospitalized, and I feel pretty good. Still though, I can't help but feel a little strange at such a close brush with mortality.  Still, I suppose marking the day is worth something.

I pick the strangest places to start ruminating on our existence.  Take hair-oriented professionals for instance.  Almost everyone has to visit one at least a few times in their life.  Whether it's a barber (usually for males) or a hairdresser (usually for women), unless you were born with some strange condition that keeps you from growing hair you ( Read more... )

On the 21st, I had a heart attack.

My grandfathers both died of heart attacks - rather suddenly, and young - they were both in their mid-fifties.  They had the misfortune of having heart disease in a third world country and in an era where medicine still had far to go.  When the doctor asked me if I had a family history of heart disease, I forgot ( Read more... )

Work's been weird. Some days I feel like nothing is going on.  I feel unmotivated and disinterested though.  Everything feels like just caretaking without a lot of innovation.

Almost December.  Time does fly... and apparently only in one direction.

There are a few folks at the motorcycle/social club that I'm at that are leaving.  Recently we had a spate of people leaving for interclub politics reasons (people having issues with one another), people leaving because of of who dates who, and people leaving because of family ( Read more... )

I've been totally jones'in lately on this dream of me and a friend getting PanAmericas (or BMW 1250s) and driving from here to Denver, then down to Santa Fe and the Pueblos, then back through Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and so on on this great western American adventure.
