Lalalala, Spring Break! That's why I'm commenting everywhere! And posting excessive stuff!

Just rewatched Battlestar Galactica 4.15 "No Exit." One of the best season four episodes. ( spoilers )

I'm having such a hard time getting my brain to shut up about the possible OOC-ness and plot-holes. But I want shippy not-fix-it fic to exist, too. *torn*

Hey, since you're enabling, tell me your opinion: do you think Carter could/would track Reese's whereabouts by using his cell phone number?

Heh, FInch has trouble tracking Reese, what makes you think Carter would have more luck with only police resources to work with? *chuckles*

I have to say that I was completely fascinated by Cylon culture in the re-boot. In the original series, at least in the books, the Cylons had a pretty interesting culture too. Centurions had one brain. The leaders (like Baltar's watcher/assistant Lucifer) had an extra brain implanted in the bodies, and Imperious Leader supposedly had three brains. I always thought that was an interesting way to promote someone. "Congratulations, here's an extra brain!" But it also meant that as you were promoted, you were also "improved" in the process.

Contrast that with the reboot and how the Cylons are seeking perfection and to become more godlike. Only this time instead of happening in the books (where most people probably missed it), it's happening onscreen and is a major plot point.

OK, done musing. Now back to work. *drags self off*

Hee, you remember a lot more about the original series than I do. Though I never did read any books for it, so that's part of it. (I had a crush on original Apollo and thought Starbuck was a jerk... which is hilarious considering my exact opposite preferences in the reboot.)

Making the cylons human in form but with the capability for a shared culture was an excellent choice for the remake, in my opinion. I wish they'd spent more time on the religion question, actually, although I doubt many others share that sentiment.

Oh, BSG. Person of Interest may be getting the vast majority of the posts lately, but I doubt it will ever catch up to how much time I spent writing about BSG on LJ.

I am an original series BSG geek all the way! I have two or three of the novelizations that I found in a secondhand bookstore when I was a kid. They're probably worth something now, if I was willing to give them up. I bought the series on DVD (in the big silver Cylon head box) the day they came out. And I've met the original Apollo (still gorgeous!), Starbuck, and Boomer in person at conventions. *geeks out*

I actually wished they'd spent more time on the religion thing too, if only because it's so unusual to see religion mentioned in sci fi at all (we're all so cerebral here in the future!). I loved the reboot too. I'm probably one of the few people in my circle of friends who was delighted that Starbuck was going to be a woman when they first announced it. I think she won a bunch of people over once they saw her in action. But before that? Oh, the fanboys were livid. But one of the things that stood out for me from the original series was that they HAD women warriors and viper pilots (OK, it was an emergency thing because ( ... )

*butts in*

I'm pretty sure Serina's death was the first time I cried over television. My wee self was absolutely GUTTED by that.

I was okay with the idea of a reboot (I could see where it could use updating, tbh), but the parts I didn't like changed weren't Starbuck, since I was more about Apollo anyway, but making Tigh white and jettisoning Athena. Athena didn't have much to do in OldSkool but I thought a sister/daughter had potential that I was sad to lose.

SAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM indeed. At least he was awake for most of the episode. If I go ahead and watch the next one, that'll change.

Remix... last year's was so easy! Of course, the main problem is that shiny new fandom has EATEN MY BRAIN and I don't want to focus on BSG stuff.

Straight death wouldn't have been enough suffering for what he (and the rest of the FF, by extension) had done. Not to mention, I don't think she likes Kara much, either. And it's something a lot easier to go "well, prognosis wasn't certain" whereas overdose/air bubbles/asphyxiation would all be detectable via autopsy or observation afterwards. (if people were suspicious enough)

Otoh, maybe she couldn't bring herself to KILL him outright, either.

(why have I put so much thought into this, idek)

That was my thought as well.
