A stomachache chased me out of bed early this morning. Ugh. I was off yesterday and had the bright idea to go canoeing with Adam in a local state park. It took forever for us to find the park, then another forever to find the boat rentals. Then the boats turned out not to be canoes at all but flat-bottom boats that were much harder to navigate. Congratulate Rebecca! I actually managed to fast for most of Yom Kippur yesterday. I had a few bites here and there (I made the devilled eggs yesterday, and while cracking the eggs, I cracked too) but for the most part, I managed to abstain. The biggest mistake I made was running errands on my bike after I’d barely eaten all day. Very stupid of me.

I usually don't watch Sex in the City, but lately I've caught a few episodes where Charlotte is converting to Judaism. And even though I really don't like that show, it's enough to make me want to sit down and watch the whole arc in order. One thing I had wanted to do during my vacation was make a trip to New Orleans to see the cemeteries. (I have heard the cemeteries there are beautiful, almost on the level of Pere Lachaise.)
