How I long for some rain. Less than one inch in the last 42 days! No wonder my garden is so questionable.

Everything is going to die while I'm on vacation. I will cry and cry.

The cherry tree has once again miraculously produced fruit! This astounds me every year. I neglect the hell out of that tree and still it rewards me. Sure, it may only be a few cherries a day totalling maybe 20 for the year. But they're totally free! That's just crazy. Especially considering the damage the cicadas inflicted last year. Rhubarb was going well until some goddamned piece of filth racoon/squirrel/cat dug it up. Arrrrr! Makes me want to set out poisoned peanuts. Concerns: legality, effect on birds, subsequent needless animal murder guilt.

Have stuck rhubarb back in ground but fear the worst.

Spent the weekend in Minnesota for my cousin's wedding. Made it back to the Cities in enough time to try out a new coffee shop (Tillie's Bean -- great place with tasty sandwiches but the iced mocha is terrible) and do a bit of thrifting before flying back.
