\o/!!

RE: choice of model - For once, I don't personally have an opinion, lol! I was reading the comments to JL's post and noticed that some people were discussing their dissatisfaction. The discussion was founded (I'm just not qualified to opine on it) so I thought I'd mention it here as an fyi!

I wondered that myself, but I read up a little on the links. Basically, the character is described as having short, natural, nappy hair, and looking somewhat like Alana Beard.

This, plus the character is described as being mistaken for a boy a few times.

I couldn't find the page, but was it burger king that had the tie-in merchandise? Maybe I'm just imagining it, but wasn't there a story recently about that? Anyways, we should write those companies also. When ever they show up.

Oh, and Spin Master, who will be making the toys: http://www.spinmaster.com/

P.S.
I just hope I don't have to write and tell Lego, I won't be buying any more Legos LOL

Yes, I was trying to think about how we can make adversiting/sponsors work for us - since it's worked for ColorofChange...and maybe letters to Burger King and Spin Master could help our cause!

Hehe I actually like Fox News... The comment Beck made was wrong, Obama's ineptitude as President has nothing to do with race, but I still like the news station.

But political views aside, the change of the book cover for Liar sounds like progress to me. :3 It's actually frightening that the publisher originally wanted a white girl on the cover.

Funny how Beck's comments were removed from Wikipedia: "Ever notice the one making the charge of racism is never the one on trial until it's a conservative making the charge,” amongst other responses.

This reminds me of when Kanye West said, on live television, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." LOL Where were the boycotts then?

Anyways... the Liar cover change was an awesome win.

I think it's because all things Katrinian considered, it didn't sound quite so farfetched. :I (Still completely opinion though.)

There was quite a News hulabaloo after he said that O_o (No boycotts though, you're right.)

Plus, I think Kanye has become one of those sources that people write off as a bit crazy.

"Yes...okay Kanye...that's all fine and well..." *RAPID SWITCH THE CAMERA MOTIONS*

it's pissed Beck off enough to start his own petition

ORLY? I didn't know that! Now I'm curious to see if it's making any effect on the companies...

*HEE* I googled it and one of the links to the petition was from Wonkette, where the Wonketteers are signing the petition and taking him to task with their snark-filled names and comments. It's kind of brilliant. XD

ETA" "The signature page was made private due to an attempt by certain groups to disrupt our petition drive."

*falls over laughing*
