I feel lighter now
We finally made a decision ... staying where I'm at will wind up the same take-home pay after a baby, due to the difference in childcare costs. But I'd have significantly less time with my own family at the new place, and I know more than most (because of my line of work) just how precious those first several years are.

Another turning point, another fork stuck in the road
I can't talk of this on facebook because too many people who I know through my current job are on my friends list. LJ is the place I go when I need sanctuary from the public, and am surrounded only by friends.

On Wednesday night, Shay informed us that they bought a house in Henryetta.
So, every time we tried to convince Shay to move to the OKC area, she said no, b/c Tulsa is where her school and friends are. When we asked why she's moving to Henryetta, she replied that Tulsa is, "getting bad with drugs and shootings." She lives in a good part of Tulsa ( Read more... ) -
Lawyer
We met with our new lawyer for the first time today ... and we both have a very good feeling about him. He was exceedingly proactive and positive, & works with a firm devoted to father's rights. I'm so glad that we finally have a confident, competent attorney who actually believes we have a shot at this. It's also nice to be able to be in on the ( Read more... ) -
Custody ramble/rant
Gearing up for what will likely be another custody fight ...
A month or so ago, Shay had agreed we should try to work this out without lawyers, that we could continue to dialogue about where Nattie would attend school.
Apparently, they were just words ... words, words, words.

Frustrated Rant
We picked Nat up at 7:30 tonight - usually the arrangement is they feed her on nights we pick up, we feed her on nights we drop her off.
In the car, Nat informed us she was hungry & hadn't eaten. We decided to text Shay to confirm or quash Nat's story, the response was, "I don't think she's eaten dinner yet."

Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show Farewell Speech
I just finished watching my DVR of Conan's final Tonight Show.
If you didn't see it, you should. You should at least watch Conan's farewell speech. It was classy, gracious, & had an amazing message. I cried.
