So i casually came out to a bunch of work people today. Didn't make a big deal of it and the conversation flowed smoothly onwards.
I'm also now the graduate technical development representative and communications officer. But thats unrelated.

Self worth
I'm back now from India. Thankful really, its not an environment i'm particularly comfortable in. In short i don't do well in groups above 3 people and weddings invariable entail such social interaction.
I did ok this time; met some interesting folk and had many interesting conversations (more than i expected)

Why religion makes some atheists angry
Fair warning: i did not realise how stupidly long this post was going to turn out.
Ultimately, the answer to this question is frustration.
Most of society is religious. One third of all people on the planet belong to one of the Abrahamic religions (Christianity/Catholicism, Judaism or Islam), following that just shy of a sixth are Hindu. Unbelievers ( Read more... ) -

On thursday I went to the CCQN quiz night at uni, and saw a few familiar faces. In and amongst the awful jokes, negotiating answers with obstinate team members and fighting for reason; I realised something pretty critical.

Walk with confidence!
This is probably the best advice I ever recieved in a chem lab. Before, I'd walk hesitantly, not sure about what I was doing, or if I was doing it right; lots of chem students do it. If you walk with confidence people don't ask you if you're lost.
