I wish I could actually see the skit, I imagine some of the guys (like Grudzie and Cliff Floyd for example) are pretty young. Haha, memory lane.

The New York Times/Post win for the best cover following the Mitchell Report. Someone posted it in baseball, ahahaha. xD.

Can it be any baseball player or does it have to be someone you've written? Whatev, I don't care:

-GLAVDAWG. You SO knew that was coming!
Here, have more:
-David Wright
-Pat da Bat (LMFAO)
-JEREMY HERMIDA

I win!

"MARK WOHLERS CALLED ME A FAG! :("
Except in David's case it would be "HOJO CALLED ME A FAG! :("

THIRTEEN DAYS = STEVE NASH. WHY DO I KNOW THIS.

Let's start with Pat, that's the shortest, I think.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

Haha. Oh Pat. I don't hate him although I'd like him a hell of a lot more if he wasn't paid so much. I'm gonna miss him pwning the Mets after next year's over, though. I don't know, I guess there's definitely guys I like less than him, I'll say that. As for off the field, I think he's kind of a skeeze.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

Pat is important, or at least should be! That's why we're so hard on him, because it is important to us that he show up, which he did the second half of last year. I don't know if you remember that article that came out, it was like, "The Million Dollar Mistake", at the end of June, but apparently ever since then, Pat played with a chip on his shoulder and hey, whaddya know! NL East Champs!

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?Well, considering how life shits all over me ( ... )

Okay, time for HermidaElf. YOU WANT TO BE A DENTIST?!

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

I ♥ Hermy. Really, I do. I think he's a lot better than people give him credit for, it's just all those wonky injuries, plus Cabrera was kind of THE guy. Maybe now Hermy can learn to rise to the occasion. He's a great hitter, I mean, how many hitters that young can you think of with such a good eye. Maybe it's to a fault sometimes, but I think it's easier to teach him to be more aggressive in the count than more patient.
But anyway, I think Hermy seems like a genuinely sweet person, albeit totally awkward socially. And maybe a little mature for his age. That'll happen when your best friend is YOUR DAD.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?Yes! He was overlooked in 06, amongst the Babyfish, because of his time on the DL (as I said), but I think now that Amezaga's gone, he's one of the key young players ,and I don't want to say for years to ( ... )

DAVEY DAVEY, MET EMERGENCY! This is going to be exhausting.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

I do not understand the fascination with David Wright beyond his ballplaying ability. I will never deny that David is a grood player but besides that? I don't see anything appealing. He's nice but to the point where it is overkill and unrealistic and almost trying too hard. I think the reason all the fangirlies like him is because he's "safe". Non-threatening. Also, a flaming homo. it does make me giggle when he giggles. Like, aw piggy. *pat pat*

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

HE'S THE MVP, NOW DONCHA KNOW?

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

No, how am I supposed to relate to someone so outstandingly fake?

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

Baseball yus, NL East yus, Mets not so much, Mets FANS DIAF.

5) Do you ship this character with any other character ( ... )

Do Smoltzie ^^. I'll fill out this thing on here if you give me a player I've written.

Oh ho ho! Sneaky, didn't think anyone would ask me. 'm kinda glad you did, I needed a good laugh.

All the fic answers are early90s!Smoltz, btw. Post-95 would be a whole 'nother can of worms where the answers would be terribly mean and redundant. I'm just goin' with who he is when I write him.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

Baseball: Well baseballwise, I've always thought he was actually underrated, or I guess overlooked? He's probably one of the most consistent pitchers I've seen in my time as a baseball fan. And I'd pick him HoF sooner than picking Glav, all things considered. This is strictly baseball, though. Sort of like my feelings for Glav. xD

Fic: I don't like him but I like how human he is, I guess. Most baseball players don't really seem accessible/relatable, and he kind of does. I mean, he seems like an intelligent, complex sort of guy, if not a bit reliant on other people/things instead of dealing with problems ( ... )

Yeah, yeah, Tom ruins everything, but he kind of didn't in the 2006 post season, so it just comes with age.

Golf euphemisms FTW, obv. If our OTPs went golfing, mine would just suck. Tom all being perfect and aged and picking on them. Calling Pelf "Goofy" and ha ha ha, you break clubs with such a fury.

Smoltzie does seem a *bit* underrated, but he's John Smoltz.

You know, that Glavine archive/site, there're stories of encounters. Did you read about this girl finding him in a bar and sitting on his lap for a picture?

I'm sure we'll see new Smoltz/Glavine adventures in 2008. Let's just see how much Hudson gets himself involved in this mess, if he does, at all.

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)

Yeah he might be that guy at the sports bar I go to, to watch games at, and have deep baseball convos with (not that I could see him at a bar), but that's it. I'd ttly have him introduce me to that dorky lefty (AVERY, NOT THE OTHER LEFTY) next to him and leave. Ya prty mch.

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?

Baseball: As a pitcher, or player, I wouldn't count him as one of my favorites, but if I were a Braves er...fan, I guess is what to call them (although I prefer "follower"), I most certainly would, regardless of what my feelings for him as a person would be.

Fic Oh plz. Even as a youngun, he's kind of a tool (not as bad as Davey though). I wouldn't say he's the least favorite person I've ever written on paper/in my head/RP/whatever, because ( ... )

Ahahahahahaha don't

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

Oh, Avery. You are such a dork. And yet you have me SMITTEN. But seriously, omg, to watch him pitch? I've only seen a total of two of his starts (and a couple relief appearances post-injury), '91 & '92's Game 6s, and they weren't even his best starts. And I'm just like, wow. This kid is 21/22? Seriously? He's an assassin on the mound. Like, we all know how I flail over the poise of Kyle Kendrick, it's a lot like that with killer breaking stuff and a deadly fastball. And I'm kind of GLAD it's not present-day because I would have the dirtiest, most conflicting feelings EVAH. I mean, I like Glav as a pitcher but I don't feel too bad about that because he's, y'know, a total lol-fest. But Aveeeeery I ♥ youuuu and your love for Game Boy and chewing on your glove. And um, your legginess.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?Yes! Aves is very important! He was the NLCS MVP! ( ... )

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?

I'd tell those who read my fic to ttly pay attention to Avery and not those other two losers, Smoltz and Glav. And as for baseball fans, I know MSG gets all the pub. but to know where you got to, you have to know where you came from, and SGA was first. APPRECIATE, PPLZ! even if MSG is heads and tails > SGA

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

I actually don't really know how Braves fans look back on Aves nowadays, since he went out in such poor fashion. Hm. So honestly I don't know. I do think, however, if then was now, the Braves would be the team everyone slashed, and Aves would be one of the favorites.
