1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.
I ♥ Hermy. Really, I do. I think he's a lot better than people give him credit for, it's just all those wonky injuries, plus Cabrera was kind of THE guy. Maybe now Hermy can learn to rise to the occasion. He's a great hitter, I mean, how many hitters that young can you think of with such a good eye. Maybe it's to a fault sometimes, but I think it's easier to teach him to be more aggressive in the count than more patient. But anyway, I think Hermy seems like a genuinely sweet person, albeit totally awkward socially. And maybe a little mature for his age. That'll happen when your best friend is YOUR DAD.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot? Yes! He was overlooked in 06, amongst the Babyfish, because of his time on the DL (as I said), but I think now that Amezaga's gone, he's one of the key young players ,and I don't want to say for years to come, because, hello Marlins. But one can hope.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?
Aw, well Hermy has only-child syndrome, so yes. It's funny, because he's a loner but he doesn't seem to mind too terribly most of the time. He doesn't seem to have anger issues about it a la Scotty.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I luff the Fishies! A least Babyfishes, anyway.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
Ahahaha. Well, besides Jeremy's terrible crush on Joe, I've entertained the thought of him and Hurk, and him and Scotty. Also, the weird friendship we've conjured up between him and The J is kind of lol.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
That he'd be a better fielder? And not get hurt so often. And maybe I'd give him a friend or two.
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)
Aw, I could totally see hanging out with Hermy, although maybe I'd be put off at how close he is with his dad. But I'd love to go to games with him, he seems really intelligent about baseball. I think we'd get along well, even if he is a Braves fan.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
Well, he's my favorite Fish, and he's the one I most want to write as well. So I guess so!
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?
I'd advise not getting too attached, but Hermy needs all the luff he can get. So yes, love away.
