I don't know if it's coincidence but I've had some "issues" with both my vehicles (car and bicycle) lately. A few weeks ago, my car pretty much gave out (coolant leak that was both the water pump and the radiator - $400-$500 to repair, possible short in the electrical system, and a control valve in the engine - $400-$500 to repair) so it was time ( Read more... )

I went to the dentist today and had one of my crowns removed. There was a bit of decay on the tooth underneath so it had to be removed and replaced. The removal was today so I have a temporary crown until next week. I've finally finished the move into the new place. I didn't actually manage to avoid the mad rush at the end (can it ever really be avoided?) but I think I blunted it a bit. I took my new bike in for repairs and discovered that the chain ring wasn't broken after all. Apparently 4 of the teeth (2 on one side, 2 directly opposite) are shorter on purpose to make switching gears easier (not that I ever use anything other than the largest chain ring). I picked up a new bike on Saturday (2007 Norco Scrambler). It's a really nice bike and rides really well. I realized a little too late that my current bike rack doesn't fit on the new bike due to the disc brakes. And my front fender won't fit due to the suspension for the shocks. I think it may be time for a new bike. For ages now, my rear derailleur has been having some trouble shifting gears every now and then. A couple weeks ago, I found out why. One of the pulleys (looks like a gear) is getting worn out on the inside so there's a fair bit of sideways movement. I'm not sure how much it costs to get a derailleur ( Read more... )

I was in T&T today and for whatever reason I was looking at the fish sauce. I made the mistake of looking at the ingredients and the nutritional information.
