We arrived at the high school at 6 this morning to get our teen on the bus to Richmond with nearly 30 other T.C. Williams H.S. I took this photo today during Jon Morgan's violin lesson, as he practiced Danse Bacchanale, from Samson et Dalila. I like the way he was silhouetted against the translucent curtain, with the late afternoon sun illuminating the writing and music notes on the window pane.

My son, age 16, recently attended the two-week High School Composition Intensive workshop at the Boston/Berklee Conservatory. Throughout the course of the program, each student composed three new pieces of music, all of which were performed by professional musicians.
