My son performed in a piano concert at the Lyceum over the weekend. Here he is, playing Chopin's Etude #12 op 10, the "Revolutionary," in C minor Allegro con fuoco.

We have a national Reflections winner! My son Jonathan Morgan Petrini, an 8th-grader at George Washington Middle School, has won an Award of Excellence (2nd Place) in Music Composition at the NATIONAL level of the PTA Reflections arts contest. Today we drove Jon Morgan and his friend Charles down to summer camp. This is a traditional summer camp, ,with cabins, archery, nighttime campfires, swimming, crafts, canoeing, and so on. The camp is run by the Alexandria Police Department and the YMCA and is on the Northern Neck of Virginia, near Kilmarnock.
