When it comes to special effects, the Wachowski Brothers (creators of The Matrix) were probably the best possible choice to make Speed Racer. It's a pretty film. Despite the fact it's live-action, its unrealistic background, its frequent use of action lines, and the fact most of the main characters know martial arts make it feel more like anime
