We have our first badger in this year. It is beat up, mean and grumpy with some very bad bite marks. The cage has “I bite” labels all over it. I haven’t actually *seen* it as it was enclosed in pile of hay. The only reason I know that it is still alive is that when Anne went to check on it the hay rustled. We are down from 30 million in the 1950s to 1.5 million today.; If we continue like this hedgehogs will be extinct in the UK in 20-25 years.

Percy is outside right now - he was running around the garden earlier, but since I am now inside Kevin is going to bring him in. He is so prickly he sticks me even THROUGH a pair of heavy duty gloves! He is the sharpest hedgehog I have ever held. He's lethal! LOL ( Read more... )

Anne called. Percy, the abused and disabled hedgehog I am helping to rehabilitate, has to go back to the rescue centre tonight.

He's going to be on television on Thursday!!!!!!!

More on this as it develops. :-D

A new hedgehog came into the rescue centre in the last two days.

On the clinical paperwork it said, "Amputated left leg".

In the notes section: "Used as football."

Sometimes my heart doesn't know how much sadness it can hold. :-(
