I'm reading this excellent article about the goodness of God, partially because I've learned recently that some of my Christian friends actually doubt God's goodness.  I cannot stress enough how dangerous I think that attitude is.  I guess I'll have to share more of my testimony to really bring home how I feel bad theology has affected my life, but ( Read more... )

Had a debate on how God can be omnipotent and omnibenevolent.  I'm not sure that God is "omnibenevolent."  That makes him sound like an old grandpa with his pockets full of candy.  God is totally virtuous, good, and holy.  God is love.  That doesn't mean he never judges anyone.

I have been trying to take God with me everywhere I go. Yes, duh, he is everywhere, but I have been ignoring him most of the time, except when I'm in church. It appears to me that Biblical "stewardship" involves much more giving than saving. I cannot find any verses to support the following ideas, which have a contradictory verse listed after them:

Prophecy is actually the gift of being able to know what God is thinking.
