's shoulder is feeling significantly better-she does her PT exercises religiously, and it really shows. She has also been easing herself off the pain pills in preparation for going back to work tomorrow.

She's off the pain meds, did her PT exercises three times and went to the gym yesterday (which meant that she's driving again), and she was still demonstrating reasonable use of the arm at the end of the day. Still in all-day training. Discovered to my dismay that I cannot pick up a cell signal in the training room. This means I must step out every hour or so, on the off chance that called and needs something, or an insurance company called and has news, or a buyer for 's old car called with a lowball offer. (Seriously, $400?)

Yesterday was hectic. I still took the day off work, and did her PT exercises twice in the morning. In the afternoon, first we took to his class, then we ran down to an autobody shop to get an estimate (my car was rear-ended last week). As I said previously, 's arthroscopic surgery went just fine. She's recuperating well, getting lots of rest, and slowly increasing both the duration and the frequency of her PT exercises (with the requisite post-exercise icing).

's arthroscopic surgery went just fine. The doc debrided a partially torn tendon in the rotator cuff, but since it wasn't a full tear, she's only in the sling for two days instead of up to 6 weeks, and she only has physical therapy biweekly for one month ( Read more... )

We're at the surgery center for 's shoulder work-they just kicked me out of the pre-op area, and the anaethesiologist was beginning to administer the nerve blocks. I'm not going to show this in front of , but I'm kind of nervous. This is as good a way as any to keep my mind off things.

I know the saying says that deaths come in threes, but I hope that doesn't extend to "bad things" in general.

One, 's old car (that is, the one we were saving for ) died yesterday. One of the valve seals in the head cylinder has gone bad, so the car runs well enough when the engine is cold, but cylinder #1 goes out once the engine warms up. Both ( Read more... )
