In priority order:

.shoulder: Feeling better. She's off the pain meds, did her PT exercises three times and went to the gym yesterday (which meant that she's driving again), and she was still demonstrating reasonable use of the arm at the end of the day. She has more PT today, and I'll be skipping out of the last hours of this training class to take her.

.cars{"old"}: After calling around and getting lowball offers from area dealers, we've decided to just donate her old car to a charity. Fixing the car and selling it wouldn't feel right, as it'd just be a matter of time before something else breaks. Fixing the car could be expensive (as much as $4200 for a whole new engine) and keeping it gives no indication of how long it'll be before something else breaks, so the per-day cost of extending the car's lifetime could be prohibitive. Donating it is the best option; they pick it up on Saturday.

.car: The guy who rear-ended me last week finally owned up, returned his insurance company's phone calls, and gave a statement; the insurance company then called me back and accepted liability for my car's back bumper. I'll be dropping my car off at a body shop next Monday and picking up a rental car; it should be done by the end of next week.
