As we grow older and well able to afford the things we want, it gets harder and harder to be impressed by gifts. Of course there's the wow factor or moment if it is an expensive gift. Perhaps something good is actually coming out of the economic downturn.  I'm seeing more "ang mohs" on trains and living in HDB estates.  And I'm not referring to Holland V and Commonwealth and those near to central locations.  I'm seeing ang mohs in my out-of-this-world Woodlands.  A location shunned by even fellow Singaporeans.  I'm seeing a lot ( Read more... )

Was watching a TV commercial for a new upcoming condo ... interesting that featured along all the luxuries of a successful life, the diamond solitaire ring offered to the lady is pink/red ... is this an indication that a regular colourless diamond ain't good enough anymore?  How the concept of luxury and high life has progressed.

If you walk along Maxwell Road now you'll see beautiful carpets of yellow flowers on the floor. And if you are early enough, I'm sure you'll get to smell the sweet scent of the Angsana tree flowers too -- gets stale when it gets hot.
