Social integration
Perhaps something good is actually coming out of the economic downturn. I'm seeing more "ang mohs" on trains and living in HDB estates. And I'm not referring to Holland V and Commonwealth and those near to central locations. I'm seeing ang mohs in my out-of-this-world Woodlands. A location shunned by even fellow Singaporeans. I'm seeing a lot of them on the trains and at my neighbourhood kopitiam. Finally a step to integrating the "expatriate" foreigners to the Singapore culture and way of life.
