This past weekend I watched Shopgirl. I had read the novella a couple of years ago while in Telluride with the McQueens and I remember enjoying it quite a bit. The movie didn't disappoint. Yesterday it occurred to me how happy I am with my very real life. I have a real job. I'm going to have a very real job when I'm done with law school. I have a real relationship with a real man. I think the reason I'm so very interested in the people that don't like me is that I'm curious if the reasons they dislike me are the same reasons I dislike me. Of course, that runs the risk of finding a new reason to dislike myself. But I guess that's something I'm willing to risk. It makes me worried when I have a day like yesterday where I feel like I fell into dark hole and couldn't crawl out and then I have a day like today where I felt so happy I could have cried.
