This past weekend I watched Shopgirl. I had read the novella a couple of years ago while in Telluride with the McQueens and I remember enjoying it quite a bit. The movie didn't disappoint. I didn't like Shopgirl, but then, I didn't read the book. And it was one of those things that seemed like it could have been good in another medium. But I don't know, it just seemed like a bunch of stereotypes thrown together and made to interact even though you already knew what was going to happen because they're stereotypes.

Have you ever seen Aeon Flux? The show, not the movie. I hear the movie sucked, but I recently watched some episodes of the show online and really enjoyed them. They remind me powerfully of Zeke but there's a lot that makes me think of you, too.

I think you're right about the stereotypes but I don't think that detracted from the movie for me because I think stereotypes are a good thing. And I think the movie is definitely a supplement to the book. Plus, these days movies get points with me when they're pretty to look at.

I will check out Aeon Flux. Thanks.
