I really dislike (because I feel like I don’t know how hate feels) JK for being what she is now. Harry Potter was my whole youth from 11 until I was 21 and I’ve met so many friends through various channels. I always wanted to go the universal studios and the London studio tours but she just put this black cloud over it.

Sorry for the rant. I actually wanted to say:

And a few years ago I would’ve loved the show because the movies weren’t that good and I get that the HBO just wants money but now it’s not really a good idea anymore.

Yeah, I always felt the series was better suited to TV but I can’t watch this.

I cannot think of a series that is in need of a "reboot" less, my GOD. it's nothing but sheer shameless money grabbing, entirely desperate, uncreative, boring, repetitive, time-wasting. as if it hasn't made enough money as it is. disgusting.

It’s been more than 20 years so I get it as a brand refresh. But I can’t line her pockets anymore.

I mean, the last film was released in 2011. It really doesn't need a refresh haha

>the heartwarming books that speak to power of friendship, resolve and acceptance.
>acceptance

wow the irony when for the past ~ten years all the author has been doing is screaming how she does not accept a certain minority 🙄

"acceptance" from a series where lycanthropy is HIV/AIDS, Hermione gets mocked for SPEW, magical determinism etc

Yeah acceptance was never a message of those books. Ursula K Le Guin's assessment of them as "mean spirited" was spot on.

I'm truly discovering Le Guin's bibliography right now and what.a.queen.
