Yeah, but poor actress who will endlessly suffer their vitriol, though.

Yeah I'm at a point where any time diverse casting is announced, I immediately worry for the actor or actress in that role. It's only going to get worse now with the hate-filled bottom feeders enabled by this election.

I mean for some people it's their passion etc. to act and nothing else, but can we please consider mental health in such a situation.

I mean.... no one can stop her from doing that. But that also means we get to decide how to act with people (and their work) who express those kind of hateful and obsessive views. I was never really a fan in the same way others were for HP, but I certainly won't be engaging with any more of her work throughout my lifetime and try to avoid her as much as possible. She doesn't belong in my world. This 'reboot' is one of the most blatant and ethically dreary cash grabs in quite some time. Everyone associates her as much with her views as they do with HP now and to act like that isn't the case is wilfully ignorant at best.

In the recent past there’s been a marked increase in the casting of minorities, rather than having the “token non-white person”. It’s really noticeable to me as someone who watches a lot of British, American and Australian TV. It’s at the point where you watch a show from the mid-2000s or earlier and it is really noticeable how glaringly white and straight and abled everyone is.

The way I read this, those making television are going to go back to pretty much this, because it’s easier for them, and the outrage of progressives is for some reason easier to ignore than the outrage of the right wing nut jobs.

This is how I read it. We don't need to cast or do shit for "minorities" anymore. It's a deal with it, this is the future.

Men and the majority of white people keep fucking us over, I'm tired and pissed.

I'm so mad that I really want to watch it now because I've loathed Ariana for so long now. Ugh! I've hated this casting from the get-go, but, the reviews are so good, and I loooove Wicked and now I'm like AAAAHHHH! I want to see it so bad. Why do some garbage ppl keep falling upward?!
