I’ve seen way too much violent misogyny to ever be truly comfortable enough dating men again. Luckily I’m bi and it’s not an issue. I feel bad for straight women who want a relationship though. All men may not be trash, but too many are happy enough to fill the gaps.

I am one of those searches. I am lucky to live in a relatively safe country, started living alone after breaking up with my cheating exbf, and I was ready to really stop looking for a male partner, the cheating broke me as I am a very naive and trusting person. I am off the apps but I am in two of those "are we dating the same guy" groups for my location, and the posts are crazy, guys with wives and babies creating premium accounts so that they can hide themselves locally, guys being abusive and physically violent, guys who lovebomb and then ghost, a whole spectrum of shitty behaviors being documented ( ... )

Your post reminded me of a comment or tweet I read where men are threatened by women banding together because we always create safe, informative spaces for each other. I'm glad that these groups have been very helpful!

I'm part of a 'pussy pile' group and just being able to vet about every person I meet through them? My twenties would have been so much easier.

A reminder that the 4B movement is transphobic, they openly identify as TERFs and only have an interest in supporting cis women.

I feel like transphobia exists or rears it's head in any forms of feminist movements, I don't think it's an inherent thing, but whenever you have something that's focused on women, you're going to have terfs in the space.

I think the rules of 4B transcend the actual movement. South Korea in and of itself is quite trans phobic, so this isn't a shocker. But, I think it can be done well elsewhere.

Sure, but this movement was literally founded on Womad/radical feminist Korean forums, those four basic tenets that make up the name are easy to co-opt but why cherrypick ideology from a group that actively harasses pregnant women/women with children, or that protested against transwomen getting into a woman's university?

No feminist movement is perfect of course, and if women are rallying to be celibate or shun men then go for it! But why attach yourself to a named movement that exists within a specific context while trying to ignore that context?

The movement is relatively new, especially in the west. Most people are unaware about the issues within it. However what's resonating with them is the individual rules, and I think most women who do adhere to it, will do some separate from the movement.

Most people only reference 4B because it's the most known movement of it's kind. If somebody WERE to announce an adherence to 4B without mentioning 4B people would say "that's just 4B" or accuse them of co-opting it. So, it's easier to just SAY 4B. Just put the disclaimer on it.

I support most radical feminist movement, so I'm all for this.

I will however mention that I saw a TikTok from a Black woman who urged any woman seriously considering this to make sure they're strapped since men do not like women telling them what they aren't going to do. So, if y'all will be participating, stay safe.

I would generally consider myself less gun-friendly than your average leftist/progressive, but current times are so utterly bizarre that I really cannot judge the women I'm seeing online consider buying their first gun. Couldn't be me personally, guns scare the shit out of me, but I can understand why they're so afraid.
